Ho una scheda video intel 82945G Express. Come fare per attivare gli effetti 3d?

ho seguito il tuo consiglio, ho verificato la possibilità di funzionamento del programma, ma il problema credo che sia che se vado su sistema>preferenze>aspetto>effetti visivi, l'unica opzione possibile è nessuno. se scelgo normali cerca un driver, e poi alla fine mi dice: impossibile attivare gli effetti visivi

Ciao, sono nuovo del mondo Linux, ho installato Ubuntu 9.10 sul mio pc ma non riesco ad attivare gli effetti visivi, ottengo sempre come risposta "impossibile abilitare gli effetti..."
Il pc è composto da:

Per quel poco che neso, la MB integra come scheda video una Radeon HD4200: può essere lei la causa?

chiedo scusa ma su youtube si vedono effetti incredibili con COMPIZ....in UBUNTU 9.10
Io l'ho scaricato ma non riesco a farlo funzionare, mi correggo, alcuni effetti, tipo finestre tremolanti li vedo già attivi ma io vorrei capire come posso avere il desktop un cilindro con le applicazioni aperte o una sfera....qualcuno può illuminarmi?  sono un pò duro di cabeza

credo proprio di si. In SISTEMA-PREFERENZE mi viene data la possibilità di configurare compiz o normalmente o in una via più semplice ma non riesco a capire come attivare il desktop 3d. Cosa devo fare?
