Ciao io ho una hp c6180 e per installarla in wifi non bisogna collegare il cavo usb. Questa è la procedura passo passo che eseguo io:
1. scarico l'ultima versione di hplip da
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html nella cartella /home/
utente/hplip
2. apro il terminale e digito
sh hplip-3.10.2.run
inizia l'installazione -->
HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.10.2)

y e poi inserisco la password di root
5. alle INSTALLATION NOTES premo
enter e attendo lo scaricamento e l'installazione delle eventuali dipendenze mancanti
6. a questo punto compare il seguente messaggio

importante: trattandosi di un collegamento di tipo wifi è importante premere
i=ignore/continueAlla finestra che appare selezionare Network/Ethernet/Wireless e poi next
La finestra successiva dovrebbe mostrare la stampante rilevata
Sull'ultima schermata è sufficiente lasciare tutto così e premere add printer.
Se tutto è andato a buon fine in Accessori troviamo HP Device Manager dove ci sarà la stampante.
