Compiz su AiGLX per GNOME/KDE/XfCE (aggiorntato al 22/08/2007)

a me quando ci aggiornamenti dello xorg non succede niente! (ho driver nvidia beta)

Ho installato aiglx & compiz come da guida utilizzando i driver NVIDIA beta e un kernel vanilla... al primo avvio di compiz è andato tutto bene, però ora (dopo riavvio), ogni volta che attivo il "GL Desktop" scompare il titolo delle finestre ed i bordi  
Quando entro in GNOME senza abilitare gli effetti (opzione GLDesktop non attiva) va tutto bene, appena attivo dalla tray icon, scompare il bordo della finestra...  
Il resto funziona, cioè ci sono gli effetti quando cambio desktop, popup, ..., ma non ho più la decorazione delle finestre... ho notato che appena attivo GLDesktop il processo metacity non è più in esecuzione anche se è attivo come tema per la decorazione delle finestre metacity (...forse non c'entra niente...)

Cosa mi sono perso nella configurazione?

Non ho fatto alcuna modifica ai driver. Ho una scheda ATI 9600XT


Prima di muovermi, seguendo i passi di questa guida, volevo assicurarmi che sia abilitata l'accellerazione video.

Ho dato il comando glxgears e ho visto le rotelle che girano.

Poi glxinfo e questo è il risultato, che dite ? Posso procedere con le indicazioni di questa guida, o c'è qualcosa che non va ?

Ho seguito la tua guida (quella sul tuo blog), ma ho dei problemi.

A=) Con Compiz avviato le finestre non hanno piu' i tre quadratini in alto a destra, per intenderci quelli per minimizzare,massimizzare, chiudere una finestra. Nè riesco a spostare una finestra aperta.

B=) Non capisco come visualizzare il cubo.... con Ctrl+Alt+freccia non succede niente.

C=) nel momento in cui disabilito e poi riabilito il GL Desktop, il pc freeza e ritorna alla schermata di login

Insomma tanti problemi.....


che faccio ?

io leverei renderaccel, a me freeza tutto se ci metto quella opzione li....poi invece di fallo partire dall'icona compiz, apri un terminale e scrivi, compiz --replace, e dicci cosa dice dopo....

volevo solo segnalare che se in sessioni aggiungo solo compiz-tray-icon, non mi si avvia il decorator e quindi non ho i bordi ed i pulsanti delle finestre.
per risolvere ho aggiunto in sessioni anche gnome-window-decorator.

ora però mi sono anche accorto di un altro problema: io aggiungo in sessioni compiz-tray-icon e mi viene rimosso sistematicamente o al riavvio o quando smanetto con compiz, questo non succede al comando gnome-window-decorator.
a qualcuno capita la stessa cosa?

compiz va perfettamente ma lo devo avviare a mano (in sessioni ho sempre il comando gnome-window-decorator)
compiz --replace mi freeza e devo resettare

oggi mi sono saltati i driver nvidia beta a causa di un aggiornamento della edgy che credo abbiamo cambiato qualke modulo del kernel...
quando provo ad installare i beta dai repository amaranth mi esce scritto:

allora ho risolto ritornando alla versione 2.6.17.5-11-amaranth di linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17.10-generic

ora però ho un altro problema non mi carica più i bordi delle finestre! mi sa che c'è stato anche un aggiornamento di compiz...
se qualcuno trova un modo per risolvere...

Ho installato aiglx & compiz come da guida utilizzando i driver NVIDIA beta e un kernel vanilla... al primo avvio di compiz è andato tutto bene, però ora (dopo riavvio), ogni volta che attivo il "GL Desktop" scompare il titolo delle finestre ed i bordi  
Quando entro in GNOME senza abilitare gli effetti (opzione GLDesktop non attiva) va tutto bene, appena attivo dalla tray icon, scompare il bordo della finestra...  
Il resto funziona, cioè ci sono gli effetti quando cambio desktop, popup, ..., ma non ho più la decorazione delle finestre... ho notato che appena attivo GLDesktop il processo metacity non è più in esecuzione anche se è attivo come tema per la decorazione delle finestre metacity (...forse non c'entra niente...)

Cosa mi sono perso nella configurazione?  

Oggi ho trovato degli aggiornamenti su Edgy e dopo il riavvio funziona tutto, senza fare nulla

Hmm ho lo steso  problema di Origin of, non vorrei fosse colpa mia. Situazione completa:
Dutrante l'installazione, sono stato costretto a usare l'alternate cd E a fare pure il refonfigure di xserver. Con la mia scheda (radeon 9800 pro) facendo il reconfigure il driver ati NON va. Sono stato costretto ad usare il vesa...

A questo punto ho provato con i driver proprietari, ma ho ricevuto come output a fglrxinfo il prevedibile
