[Risolto] [Grub] 9.10, grub e sistema di default

Ciao ragazzi!
Ho di nuovo bisogno di aiuto
Ieri pomeriggio, non avendo niente da fare, ho aggiornato a karmic con

sudo update-manager -d

Tutto bene fino al riavvio dove mi sono reso conto che le impostazioni di grub erano saltate
Sul mio computer ho windows 7 (rc), una specie di so che serve per ripristinare vista (classico della acer) e ubuntu (mi ha messo 2 kernel diversi)
Il sistema predefinito all'avvio era windows 7
Adesso invece è il primo dell'elenco cioè ubuntu instabile
Così ho dato

tentando di modificare quel numeretto che indica il sistema di default all'avvio.
Ma con mio grande stupore scopro che...
E' LO STESSO DI PRIMA!!!
cioè un 5
Mi ricordo che quando avevo ubuntu stabile e ho messo windows 7 come predefinito quel numero era 1
io l'ho cambiato in 5 perchè
Ubuntu (primo kernel)
Ubuntu (secondo kernel)
Atri sistemi
Vista loader (ripristino)
Vista loader (windows 7)

Cosa devo fare per fare in modo che si avvii sempre prima windows 7?

Se volete vi metto il menu.lst così lo leggete bene

Non per fare il guasta feste ma la 9.10 usa grub 2 che non utilizza più il comodissimo menu.lst

Lo so... ma quando avvio il pc mi dice che sta caricando grub 1.5
Ubuntu 9.10 usa grub 2 se lo installi da zero. ma se aggiorni ti rimane come prima
mica per esempio mi cambia da ext3 a 4 solo perchè ho aggiornato
non so se mi sono spiegato (o se ho detto ca..ate)

Se quando avvii il PC ti dice che sta caricando grub2, vuol dire che usa grub2, quindi ha ragione miclab.
Comunque ti togli ogni dubbio se quando all'avvio ti appare il menu del grub vai a vedere, in alto sopra al menu, cosa c'è sul titolo.
Se fosse il grub2, per avviare di default un O.S. "X", devi fare così:
1) Sul menu del grub, che ti appare all'avvio, conta, partendo da zero, fino alla riga che vuoi mettere di default(memorizza il numero)
2) Avvia Karmic
3) Apri, con privilegi di root, il file /etc/default/grub e alla fine della riga "GRUB_DEFAULT=" cambia il numero che c'è con quello che hai memorizzato al punto 1, e salva le modifiche.
4) Apri il terminale e dai il comando:

sudo update-grub

Riavvia e, se hai fatto tutto bene, ti trovi evidenziata la riga che hai scelto.
Il vecchio grub era molto semplice, ma anche questo una volta capito il meccanismo non è poi così male.

Sì scusa di prima mattina ricordavo male ed ho scritto una sciocchezza..ho corretto.
Prova a seguire, nella guida del Wiki, il primo metodo per il recupero del grub, è semplicissimo.
Inoltre, correggimi se sbaglio, la riga di avvio da leggere per avviare l'S.O. che ti interessa è la 5, quindi dato che grub inizia a contare da 0, dovresti mettere nel menu.lst "default 4".

Considerando che con queste impostazioni mi parte per prima ubuntu
Cosa devo fare per far partire windows 7 ?

installa startupmanager e con quello fai tutte le scelte che vuoi facile facile senza fare danni!

Startup manager non mi piace
L'altra volta mi ha fatto un sacco di casini perchè non capiva che i due "Vista Loader" erano diversi (uno di ripristino e l'altro per windows 7) e quindi mi avviava sempre il ripristino di vista

la partizione di recovery è quella da 10GB?

perchè non la togli dal menu.lst, è solo un pericolo.
