Once you have extracted the "Unity Gnome Installer" folder from the ZIP move it to your home directory! For this installation to work you must have the folder in your home directory.
To execute the script double click the Installer.sh script and click run in terminal. Enter your password and allow the script to finish.
To reverse the effects double click the Restore.sh script and click run in terminal. Enter your password and allow the script to finish.
The script works by changing the Unity-2D-launchers configuration files to remove unwanted unity components. Such as the Dash button or the Workspaces switcher. Both of which are completely mute, or incompatible in gnome-shell.
Before any changes are made the script backs up your previous config file for solidarities sake. It then removes two lines from the Launcher script that can't for my better knowledge be commented out. It then adds the Launcher to your start-up applications.
The Restore script reverses these changes. It restores aformentioned back-up and removes the Launcher from the start-up list, as well as killing the process.
The script simply automates a trivial task.
Enjoy.
