Salve a tutti. Possiedo un VPS su ovh che monta l'OS Centos 7 64 bit

Pochi giorni fa dopo un reboot il servizio è diventato irragiungibile
infatti quando lo pingo da windows mi da errore

Esecuzione di Ping 193.70.2.123 con 32 byte di dati:

Successivamente ho quindi chiesto all'host cosa fare e mi hanno detto di entrare da rescue mode (modalità provvisoria) e leggere i logs i quali affermano che effettivamente 2 processi di sistema sono stati killati

Cercando un po' in giro (anche in inglese), non ho trovato nulla se non il fatto che dovrebbe essere qualcosa che ha a che fare con il BIOS. Potete aiutarmi per favore?

Gli unici processi che sembrano essere stati terminati da un segnale KILL sembra che siano legati solo alla console seriale, dunbito quindi che abbiano a che fare con l'instradamento del server stesso.

In ogni caso controllare i log è una buona idea, e prova a postarli completi, ma usando i tag del sito perchè di solito sono abbastanza prolissi.

L'ideale sarebbe che controllassi e postassi i log di systemd e quelli di dmesg, dubito che quelli del kernel possano dirti qualcosa riguardo le reti, a meno che tu non abbia qualche problema proprio con l'interfaccia, cosa di cui dubito.

Oltre questo, i problemi come il tuo di solito, sono dovuti a come è composta la rete, hai per caso qualche firewall attivo? Il tuo server è sotto proxy, oppure sotto router? C'è un DHCP attivo che magari ha cambiato l'indirizzo IP assegnato al server? C'era qualche regola sul router di port forwarding che impedirebbe di inoltrare i nuovi pacchetti allo stesso server, a causa dell'IP cambiato?

In pratica, devi definire come è composta la rete, visto che sembra che il server funzioni bene.

Prova magari a fare un ping in loopback, così ti assicuri che almeno l'interfaccia di rete funzioni bene.

Ma le impostazioni di questo server continuano a rimanere misteriose. Lo avevi impostato tu anche prima del reboot? In ogni caso, se non sai se c'è un proxy, un router, uno switch, un bridge o qualunque altro dispositivo che impedisce la comunicazione, non si può fare nulla.

In pratica se non sai come è fatta la rete e come si raggiunge, sarà difficile aiutarti.

E che differenze ci sarebbero con la modalità "normale"? Lascia stare, ho letto la guida di OVH.
Si, funzionano perchè NON stai utilizzando il tuo VPS, ma un ambiente Linux di manutenzione agganciato al tuo VPS (spento).


Premetto che non conosco CentOS.
Se hai identificato che il "problema" è dovuto alle regole impostate per IPTables, ti basta spazzare via (o spostare) il file /etc/sysconfig/iptables e poi riavviare il VPS. In questo modo dovresti riuscire a riguadagnare l'accesso al tuo VPS e correggere dove opportuno.

Se l'orologio di sistema del VPS è particolarmente disallineato, potrebbero esserci problemi sulla comunicazione via SSH, sul ping non credo. Ma non sono così preparato in merito.
Per correggere, sul tuo VPS verifica la presenza del servizio NTP. Se non è presente installalo.
