Cambiare risoluzione schermo

Volevo tentare di cambiare la risoluzione dello schermo per problemi di comunicazion con un video proiettore che collgo al portatile..
Con Windows di solito metto la risoluzione più bassa (800x600) x vedere bene quanto proietto... con kubuntu non son riuscito a cambiare la risoluzione... e sul videoproiettore vedevo peggio... più scuro, con righe più chiare e altre più scure, senza riuscire a visualizzare filmati...

Qualcuno mi può aiutare?!?
