Le partizioni le ho divise in questo modo:

Perfetto farò solo due partizioni /(root) e /home e anche una /tmp magari. Ma vorrei togliere la partiione di swap perchè non la riconosce criptografata e comunque ho 4gb di RAM e con Lubuntu vado tranquillo.

Quindi un'nstallazione ext su USB ad esempio non viene riconosciuta da window$ ...
però comunque la live con i file di persistenza, anche se non "esplorabili", conserva i file, le modifiche ad essi ed i software installati.
A questo punto sembra meglio optare per una live... ma l'opzione "ultima spiaggia" sembra una buona idea, da testare comunque anche se hai già visto che windows non trova la partizione secondaria anche se in FAT32 ma trova la live nella partizione primaria, quindi capisco il tentativo di scambiare le partizioni. ora magari ci provo con gparted ed unetbootin.

Non necessariamente, basta che sia vista da grub come contenente qualcosa di avviabile.
Avevo iniziato a scriverlo prima, ma mi sono fermato per non allungare... si, si possono creare più partizioni primarie o logiche ciascuna con la sua distro indipendente. Qualcuno ha fatto anche la /home comune, ma non so i che guai ci si può cacciare.

A questo punto sembra meglio optare per una live...

Invisibile per invisibile da win, mi sembra che la doppia partizione sia molto più sicura, se il sistema live si corrompe i dati sono in salvo e leggibili da qualunque altro Linux. Grazie per avermi fatto venire in mente questa possibilità con cui "riabilito" la live a potenzialmente usabile "per tutti i giorni", o comunque a più di semplice manutenzione come l'ho "declassata" finora Inoltre abbiamo scoperto che il sistema live occupa circa 800Mib, quindi tutto il resto dello spazio della partizione può essere dedicato alla persistenza (per cui anche su una live si possono installare i codec audio-video, java e utilità varie, compreso unetbootin per creare altre live).

Intanto ho risolto ed installato sul computer.

Ritornando alla discussione della USB ho partizionato gli 8gb nel modo seguente:

3.0gb Ext2 LiveHome

Ora devo montare l'ISO su USB con Unetbootin e provare. Comunque già linux legge tutte e tre le partizioni
Poi dovrei provare anche su pc windows in modo appunto da vedere se legge le altre partizioni mentre in live.

PS: Lubuntu è a dir poco fantastico, non so come ho fatto sino ad ora senza Linux. Consuma appena 120mb di RAM e il computer ne ha ben 4gb mentre con windows all'avvio utilizzava almeno 800mb senza alcun applicazione in esecuzione e inoltre non sfruttava tutti e 4gb ma solo 3gb.
