Il pc si blocca a random, con 100% utilizzo cpu (sleep hrtimer_nanosleep)

Non vorrei dire una calìvolata ma da ubuntu 10.04 ad adesso (11.10) ho sempre lo stesso problema. A random, non so se dipenda da altri programmi, la cpu scoppia al 100% dell'utilizzo da 3-4 processi che compaiono dal nulla chiamati:

NOME PROCESSO: SLEEP
WCHAN: hrtimer_nanosleep
FILE USATI: /dev/null

Come cpu ho un quad-core 955, e quando compaiono questi processi, a volte 1 a volte 3-4 contemporaneamente, il pc si blocca per circa 90-120 secondi, poi riprende a funzionare come nulla fosse. Quando passo da una distro all'altra formato tutto, quindi non mi porto il problema dietro da chissa cosa, e su seven (installato su dualboot) non ho problemi simili. Adesso, ho 3 ipotesi a riguardo che ho elaborato man mano con il tempo. Solitamente capita quando:

1) è in funzione VLC
2) quando uso JDownloader > quindi sun java
3) oggi, mi sono accorto che compare anche un processo del screensaver xdg-screensaver (wchan: do_wait) per ogni processo SLEEP, non so se sia un caso. Adesso provo a rimuovere il screensaver impostando a 0 il tempo

Sarebbe il caso che tu salvassi il contenuto del syslog quando il problema ti ricapita e che lo postassi come allegato in questo topic

Questa sera provo, così tentiamo di capire cos'è perchè mi sta dando parecchio fastidio. Alla fine magari è un problema hardware, non lo so.

Sembra un surriscaldamento. Il processo "sleep" e' il ciclo di idle, il sistema non sta facendo nulla di impegnativo in quel frangente.

Stavo semplicemente guardando vari file PDF, (ore 22:37) e da punto in bianco TUTTO il sistema ha cominciato a scattare, mouse incluso. Ho subito aperto top e non mi mostrava niente di anomalo e nemmeno task manager. Però vedevo una dozzina o poco più di processi chiamati kworker tutti in sleep. Passato il minuto ha ripreso tutto a funzionare. A questo punto, avendo visto l'allarme della temperature CPU oggi proverò a sterssare la CPU con VLC e filmati 1080p + altre operazioni. Sono curioso. Allora, ho fatto un paio di prove e sono sempre più convinto che sia un problema di temperatura CPU (oppure ram, da non escludere). Stavo facendo girare su VLC un filmato in 1080p + accentuazione dettagli + deformazione immagine il tutto dopo aver disabilitato i driver video costringendo la cpu a restare costantemente sopra l'80% di utilizzo. Risultato è che mi si è spendo il pc dopo 30 minuti. Guardo nel BIOS la temperatura della CPU > 106 gradi. O_O. Ho spento tutto, pulito il coole che, ammetto, sembrava coperto da un piumone di polvere, e riacceso. Adesso, non lo so che temperatura sia la norma per un 9550, m'informerò tra poco ma... dopo circa 10 min di sosta (mentre pulivo) avrebbe dovuto raffreddarsi. Acceso il pc con il cooler pulito sono entrato nel BIOS a ricontrollare. È passato dall'immediato 81 gradi a circa 93 in tipo 3 minuti... sotto linux ho installato vari programmi per monitoreare le temperature ma quella della PCU non viene visualizzata. EDIT: sono riuscito ad installare i moduli mancanti (coretemp) ed adesso mi senga temperature contrastanti. Avendo il sistema in uso normale, solo browser e terminale, le mie temperature sono 55 gradi per core. Alcune volte vedo il primo core andare a 60 ma non è andato oltre. Leggendo le temperature varie su internet del mio stesso modello, dovrei CORRERE a comprare un nuovo coller. Ci sono persone che dicono che il manuale parla di 40 gradi come temperatura ottimanel. Dovresti controllare qual'è la temperatura critica prevista per ognuno dei sensori (yes)

A mio avviso potevi evitare di mettere sotto pressione il pc, perché potresti aver procurato dei danni permanenti allo stesso $:-\$

Hehe, l'ho fatto solo perchè so che nel BIOS della mia scheda madre avevo impostato la temp massima da raggiungere prima dello spegnimento automatico. Il manuale dice che la CPU dovrebbe lavorare a 71 gradi sotto stress, io ne registro 60 adesso sotto stress, mentre la macchina si spegne se la temperatura raggiunge i 70. Quindi mi sa che la temp del BIOS è sbagliata... sia linux che windows registrano tra i 55 e 60 gradi per core... non capisco come misura il bios...

70 gradi e si spegne... però ripeto, al bios mi senga 85 gradi in salita. Sotto linux e windows mi segna sempre 55-60 PER CORE... e di fatti si spegne quando il 50% dei core supera i 70 gradi da me impostati. Quindi non capisco come faccia il bios a misurarne 85

Allora, da quella volta tenevo sotto controllo il tutto e non capitava mai. Avevo solo pulito il cooler della CPU che era, un disastro. Poco fa è capitato di nuovo, 4 core su 4 al 100% per circa 2 minuti. Syslog non ha alcun aggiornamento a riguardo

Il problema è sorto alle 23:31 circa. L'unica cosa che sono riuscito a fare è aprire il monitor di sistema e trovarmi una dozzina di processi kworker tutti in sleeping. Forse erano anche poco più d'una dozzina. Ma nessuna applicazione usava la cpu, niente oltre a vlc (manco 12%), java (jdownloader con circa il 7%) e basta

La parte interessante è questa, ho solo seven ed ubuntu. Con seven, mai un solo problema. Su seven stresso il pc a mille con giochi come battlefield e skyrim al massimo e con tutti i calcoli della fisica impostati su CPU. Ho provato anche con software come prime 95 e benchmark vari per quasi un ora. Niente. Filmati HD con VLC e media player classic, niente. Vengo su ubuntu 11.10 e s'impalla. Non so se sia causa JAVA (jdownloader) o vlc o non so cosa. certo è che con java e vlc accade

No assolutamente, solo la nvidia GTX570Amp! che non mi da problemi per il resto. Questo problema l'ho sperimentato anche ad installazione fresca se mal non ricordo, senza i driver proprietari di nVidia.

EDIT: poi, ripensandoci, ho cambiato così tanti driver da ubuntu 10.04 che SUPPONGO sarebbe stato risolto se fosse stato un problema di driver.

Io torno a dire che quando si blocca il sistema ho più d'una dozzina di processi kworker e poi spariscono
