Ciao a tutti!
Da qualche giorno il Gestore dischi mi segnala l'avviso "Rilevati problemi nel disco fisso. Un disco fisso segnala problemi di salute".

Da live, avvia gparted e fai uno scandisk (check) dell'hd difettoso.

Puoi fare in questo modo sperando che il problema si risolva, perché se l'hd è proprio danneggiato fisicamente non puoi fare nulla. Salva i tuoi contenuti di quell hd su di un altro supporto (cd, dvd, usbpen, hd)e poi lo formatti a basso livello con questo comando

Sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX
Dove "X" sta per in nome dell hd da formattare (per esempio sda o sdb o sdc ecc...).
Se sei incerto, prima di procede, chiedi pure.
PS: Questo tipo di formattazione impiega diverse ore!!!

Visto che poi dovrei fare installazioni ex novo e inoltre avevo già in preventivo di acquistare un nuovo HD penso che proverò ad effettuare la formattazione a basso livello e se andrà a buon fine terrò l'hd come storage secondario.
Un ultima domanda...
la formattazione a basso livello coinvolge l'intero hard disk indipendentemente dal fatto che siano presente più partizioni giusto?

Dipende dal tipo di comando. Quello che ti ho dato io coinvolge tutto l'hd dal primo all'ultimo cluster.
Se invece vuoi rasare a zero solo una partizione devi indicare il numero della partizione, tipo /dev/sdX1 o sdX2 ecc.
