utilizzo ubuntu mate 15.10 su un Toshiba Satellite L630.
Ho collegato un monitor esterno ed ho spento il monitor del laptop. Funziona tutto correttamente.
Il problema sorge all'avvio: il desktop (scrivania) è tagliato a metà, la parte superiore è normale mentre la parte inferiore è nera. Allego un'immagine:

Ho dovuto usare il driver proprietario perché con il driver open non riuscivo ad impostare la risoluzione massima sul monitor esterno. Ho provato anche l'opzione 3, senza successo.
Ho cercato su internet una possibile soluzione del problema ed ho trovato la seguente:
modificare il file di grub, sostituendo la riga
