si, il file l'ho decompresso e dal desktop l'ho messo nella mia home, ho provato più volte ma mi da sempre comand not found

mi sembra assurdo ma ho trovato uno che ha risolto il tuo errore spostando fglrx dopo i810

prova non si sa mai

vedo con piacere che questa discussione ha appassionato in molti.
Evidentemente il problema, anche se si tratta di una questione non essenziale, non è di facile soluzione.
Io ho seguito la discussione senza intervenire anche perche non ho avuto tempo di fare tutte le prove suggerite da tutti quelli che hanno contribuito.
Ieri sera finalmente mi sono rimesso e ovviamente non ho risolto un tubo.
Compizfusion continua a non andarmi nonostante abbia provato di tutto.

Suggerire xgl è una mossa da prendere con le pinze:
1) i nuovi driver ati supportano aixgl
2) xgl può causare rallentamenti del pc
3) schermo completamente bianco al riavvio
4) tastiera in inglese
5) mouse che non funziona più a dovere

edit: ci sono alcuni bug, ad esempio il cubo non funziona (o sono io che non so farlo funzionare XD)

Per il cubo sono io che sbaglio qualcosa nelle impostazioni visto che non mi va piu neanche su ubuntu 

Ma almeno con xgl funziona, no?

Anch' io credo che prima di utilizzare xgl sarebbe meglio riuscire a far funzionare aixgl visto appunto che ATI spergiura che i suoi nuovi driver supportano questo server grafico.
Il fatto che poi ci siano ancora dei bug....
Certo uno puo dire che però anche aixgl ha sicuramente dei bug...bhoo
intanto io continuo nonostante gli ottimi suggerimenti di marcogastaldello a non riuscire a far funzionare un tubo.
Devo dire che non è che mi stia applicando più di tanto...magari questo fine settimana..vedremo

con xgl al 99% compiz funziona, se sei sfortunato ti ritrovi con i problemi sopra citati e son sudori, specie se combini poco con la shell

ci sono riuscito FINALMENTE ho CompizFusion sul mio Kubuntu 7.10 alleluja.
Quando ho dato il comando
compiz --replace ccp & emerald --replace &
mi ha fatto partire tutto quanto però mi ha risposto così

dbus è un plug-in (un effetto) per compiz, prova a configurare gli effetti da: advanced desktop effects setting

poi l'errore dovrebbe sparire

Non credo sia una questione di configurazione del plug .
ho provato a guardare un po in giro e sembra essere riportato come un bug di Dbus
Ho poi testato gli gli effetti ad uno ad uno e qualcuno manca forse qui si che è un problema di settaggio o forse dipende proprio da questo benedetto Dbus error...insomma non è proprio ome viene descritto da questo video

per es non scrive col fuoco (anche se non ho ancora ben capito che cosa dovrebbe fare esattamente),
le finestre non si chiudono sulla barra sotto con il fumetto....
E se poi dovesse essere solo un problema di configurazione di Compiz (da fare attraverso l' advenced Desktop Setting allora apriti o cielo...per me sarebbe un po difficile
