Ciao a tutti.

scrivo perchè ho trovato problemi con la 9.10 64 bit sul mio portatile HP dv6 2160el.

mi scalda tantissimo, quando riavvio mi dice che il sistema è stato ibernato perchè aveva raggiunto la temperatura di 90°.

questo pc ha un procio intel core i7 720 qm.

Ubuntu supporta il multiprocessore?

Ubuntu sicuramente supporta i multi core e multi processori (son due cose diverse), ma il difetto che fa a te è la temperatura, quindi o non gestisce le ventole o sono sempre "a manetta" (lo scaling della frequenza non funziona).

Dai il comando da terminale:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

cat /proc/cpuinfo
e posta il risultato, inserisci il testo nei tag "code" (pulsante "#" nel modulo di risposta) come da esempio:

lo devo riinstallare. quindi per questo ti volevo anche chiedere un'altra cosa dato che l'avevo installato con wubi.

ho 4 partizioni preinstallate:

Partizione principale,
recovery,
system,
HP_TOOLS

le prime 3 non voglio farci niente. ma HP_TOOLS è una partizione di 100 MB che ha 10 MB occupati.

La posso cancellare? è buona cosa?? a cosa serve tale partizione??

No, per 100 Mb non ti conviene sgamarla, lasciala com'è, piuttosto se ti permette di fare i CD DVD di ripristino dal recovery falli ora prima di partizionare, è importante averli a mano se qualcosa va storto  ;)

il fatto è che io non voglio togliere la partizione di Recovery........

e HP_TOOLS non so cosa sia. dato che il limite massimo di partizioni è 4 io non posso aggiungerne un'altra.

è questo il problema...

Restringi una grande (non so se sia "system" o "partizione principale" nel tuo caso) e poi crei le partizioni estese "dentro" quello spazio recuperato.

avendo un hp, ci tengo a precisare, per l'utilità della discussione, che se il portatile è ancora in garanzia, e se nella scatola non sono presenti fisicamente i dvd di ripristino, puoi chiamare il servizio assistenza che te li spedisce a spese loro.

HP_TOOLS non lo avevo, ma se chiami sempre l'assistenza tecnica...è capace che loro lo sappiano.
Il limite di 4 è per le partizioni primarie.
Quelle logiche ti possono risolvere il problema, se si tratta solo di questa faccenda.

Quante ore di lavoro ha sulle spalle questo PC?

Te lo chiedo perchè il mio, dopo neanche un anno di vita (acceso per solo qualche ora al giorno) presentava gli stessi problemi che lamenti tu.

Alla fine ho risolto pulendo la ventola di raffreddamento ed il relativo dissipatore: tutto ostruito da un bellissimo strato di polvere...
L'esperienza è il tipo di insegnante più difficile. Prima ti fa l'esame, poi ti spiega la lezione

Ma siamo sicuri che scaldi la CPU (8 Core  :o)? Non è che la scheda video ci mette lo zampino?

anche io ho problemi con l'uso del mio i7 che:
scalda moltissimo, quindi la batteria dura poco..
..non va ne in ibernazione ne in sospensione...e a quanto pare non riconosce la scheda video ibrida...
