Purtroppo il risultato è sempre lo stesso.
Allego il risultato dei comandi, dove vedo che il codice restituito da lsusb è sempre 1ee8:0009. 
Qualche problema di incompatibilità con ubuntu 10.04? Purtroppo versioni più recenti non riesco a installarle sul netbook, non bootano dalla chiavetta

ok qualcosa è successo.
ho cambiato il codice prodotto nel file rules, da 0013 a 0009 e ora il led della chiavetta si accende, passa da rosso a blu, quindi esegue correttamente l'invio del PIN, per qualche tempo ci pensa, ho la connessione nel network manager però poi si disconnette.
a quel punto lsusb mi da

e ho scaricato e installato i firmware (con i comandi indicati più sotto, buildando tutto a mano) e ha funzionato!!!
