se disattivi i driver ATI proprietari, ed attivi AIGLX..e in questo modo funziona beryl ..puo' voler dire solo una cosa: che stanno funzionando i driver "radeon" opensources supportati dalla tua scheda. E l'accelerazione dovrebbe comunque esserciConsidera anche che se disinstallo i drivers proprietari di ATI ed attivo semplicemente AIGLX nello xorg.conf, il beryl funziona perfettamente ma (ovviamente) perdo l'accelerazione 3D e questo e' un peccato.

)usare i restricted drivers mi rallenta (o non mi funziona quasi) il 3D... e' normale o c'e' qualcosa in piu' che si puo' fare per accelerare ??

Il programma «emerald» non è attualmente installato. È possibile installarlo digitando:
sudo apt-get install emerald
Assicurarsi di avere il componente «universe» abilitato

E' strano che pero' un marchio cosi' affermato come Ati non supporti AIGLX
tanto piu' se la concorrente nvidia lo supporta..un sistema come linux non "pensi" a drivers piu' seri per Ati.
..fino a ieri funzionava
