TP-Link WN822N v.2 su Ubuntu 10.04 64bit driver, firmware, kernel, aiuto...

Premetto che non sono tanto agile col terminale, non so compilare il kernel sono un principiante insomma, ho acquistato un adattatore wifi della TP-link modello WN822N Ver.2 e sul laptop con Xubuntu 11.04 32bit come lo collego viene riconosciuto come AR9285 e funziona benissimo.

Sul pc-desktop con ubuntu 10.04 64bit niente da fare non funziona.
Facendo lsusb viene riconosciuto ID 0cf3:7015 Atheros Communications, Inc. e ho letto che funziona coi driver Carl9170.
Io non ho idea di come installare questi driver, non ho idea di come si aggiungano firmware e ricompilare il kernel (a proposito il mio è: 2.6.32-38-generic)
Ho seguito queste discussioni perchè sembra che il problema sia simile, ma a differenza loro non sono riuscito a risolvere:

Per ora navigo con una chiavetta TIM in abbonamento ma i gb a mia disposizione stanno calando a vista d'occhio!!  spero di risolvere, faccio un back up e ci metto una pietra sopra su questa faccenda, non mi era mai successo di non riuscire a fare andare un componente, di solito riuscivo ad installare i driver sembrava una cosa semplice ma qui....

Allora procedo in ordine (scusa il ritardo ma ho perso 1 anno di vita oggi mentre ripristinavo un'immagine di backup di questa macchina di lavoro e avevo problemi di montaggio disco esterno usb e di file system di quello interno, alla fine ho ricreato la partizione con gparted e formattato prima di fare il restore e l'ha preso...  non è la mia settimana!)

Non ne sono sicuro, però un bel riavvio daglielo lo stesso. Poi controlla la presenza del modulo con:

e magari posta nuovamente gli output dei comandi che ti avevo suggerito precedentemente

Ok ma io il modulo non lo vedo caricato... il gestore pacchetto mi diceva che dopo l'installazione di andare ad avviarlo da un menu, non so di cosa parli... forse non parte in automatico al riavvio?

Infatti hai scaricato il deb dell'installer, l'hai installato e adesso è presente nel tuo sistema. Praticamente l'installer è un'applicazione che permette di installare in modo grafico e semplice altre applicazioni. Praticamente ora nel tuo sistema è presente il 'setup' o 'wizard' per l'installazione dei driver
L'installer è presente tra le applicazioni, e ti basta avviarlo allo stesso modo delle altre

ho installato l'installer da terminale  infatti mi ha installato i driver e chiesto di riavviare  solo che adesso devo ancora riavviare ma sto uscendo appena torno vi posto i risultati dei vari comandi!

Il pacchetto mi diceva di installare questo "ath9k_htc-installer" e non sapendo dove trovarlo l'ho lanciato da terminal....  ho sbagliato?

Allora prima ho lanciato il .deb e ho clickato su installa pacchetto, poi quando mi hai detto che quello era solo l'installatore dell'installer dei driver.... ho riaperto il deb dove ricordavo diceva qualcosa a proposito di lanciare l'installer e infatti mi diceva paroli testuali:

This deb package installs program to easy install ath9k_htc driver. After install, must be run ath9k_htc-installer from menu.

E così io ho aperto il terminale e ho incollato "run ath9k_htc-installer" senza virgolette e mi si è aperta l'installazione guidata dei driver.
Poi ho trovato nel menu sotto la voce Applicazioni->Strumenti di sistema->ath9k_htc-installer e clickandoci sopra mi fa partire la stessa installazione che mi parte lanciando dal terminale quel comando...  solo che l'ho bloccato tanto li avevo già installati precedentemente.

Non hai installato alcun driver a quanto sembra perché la scheda wireless non è gestita da niente attualmente. Io non capisco tutto questo pasticcio che si è venuto a creare
Bastava installare il deb dell'installer con gdebi, Poi avviare l'installer da menù. Stop. Invece ti sei avventurato in operazioni inutilmente complicate di cui non capisco il motivo

Se si conferma quello che hai scritto allora la prima parte è fatta. La seconda prevede di lanciare il setup (installer) dei driver. Inoltre da quello che hai scritto ora, in gdebi era presente la frase:

This deb package installs program to easy install ath9k_htc driver. After install, must be run ath9k_htc-installer from menu.

e quindi non terminale
