avendo avuto problemi con la Beryl xxxxx (della serie un bello schermo bianco!)
ho tendato oggi ad aggiornare alla "beryl-core 0.2.0-svn"... RISULTATO: funziona (sebrerebbe) tutto.
In sostanza conviene, a chi ha avuto problemi come me, di aggiornare la "vecchia" 0.1.9999.2 con questa versione ed ASPETTARE l'uscita di quella finale (ormai sembra prossimamente...)
NOTA per i meno esperti:
Se non sapete coma aggiornare alla versione SVN, seguiti i seguenti passi:
1) aprite un terminale e scrivete:
- Codice: Seleziona tutto
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
2) cercate la seguente riga :
deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/ edgy main
e cambiatela così:
# deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/ edgy main
3) aggiungete la seguente riga (anche in fondo al file):
- Codice: Seleziona tutto
deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb edgy beryl-svn
4) uscite da gedit e da terminale aggiornate il tutto:
- Codice: Seleziona tutto
sudo apt-get update
5) infine aprite synaptic e cercate Beryl.... a questo punto fate l'aggiornamento di ciò che avete installato di Beryl...
NOTA:

troverete questo wiki dove vi dice come fare ad installare la gpg....
- Io le ho installate tutte e tre (inutilmente) perché mi dava un errore di :
W: GPG error: http://download.tuxfamily.org edgy Release: Le seguenti firme non sono state verificate perchè la chiave pubblica non è disponibile: NO_PUBKEY 2D6CFB44DD800CD9
Comunque credo che anche se non si installassero, l'aggiornamento si possa fare ugualmente (credo!)
LASCIO LA PAROLA a chi ne sa + di me riguardo a questo piccolo problema, magari così faccio un EDIT e sistemo il tutto per i meno esperti..

$ wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/DD800CD9.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
$ wget http://www.beerorkid.com/compiz/quinn.key.asc -O - | sudo apt-key add -
