Buona giornata.
Qualcuno mi sa aiutare in merito all'aggiornamento software sul beta ubuntu 12.10?
Il vecchio programma (12.04) si pianta all'avvio, ne ho installato uno che sembra molto valido, Software versione 3.6.0.
Ho fatto bene?

secondo me dovresti cercare di capire perchè 'si pianta all'avvio' piuttosto che installare una distribuzione che non è ancora stabile...
ne ho installato uno che sembra molto valido, Software versione 3.6.0.
di cosa parli? di kernel? o di cosa?

Mi sono spiegato male.
Sono passato al 12.10 per problemi di drivers su suggerimento di un esperto molto gentile su questo forum.
Il sistema funziona bene è stabile e non ha problemi, se non per quegli aggiornamenti automatici che nella versione 12.04 arrivavano ogni tanto. Quell'applicazione non funziona più. Ho installato questa nuova applicazione e funziona, mi chiedevo, essendo un neofita di Linux se qualcuno mi poteva confermare che ciò che ho fatto era necessario.

Se hai avanzato di versione, è un pò rischioso, soprattutto se lo fai con una versione che ancora non è stabile... per la questione degli aggiornamenti, è diversa la gestione tra una LTS e una rolling/testing... la prima ne ha meno di frequente, poichè è più stabile e già "rodata"... la seconda ne ha con più frequenza, proprio perchè, essendo ancora non "completa" e non stabilissima come una release finale, o tantomeno una LTS, necessita anche di aggiornamenti quotidiani, a volte...
Il mondo sarebbe migliore con Gnu/Linux Ubuntu!

L' aggiornamento software di permette di aggiornare i pacchetti del sistema, quindi sì, è importante, anche se puoi aggiornare il sistema con il comando:

mario, non capito bene.

L' applicazione aggiornamenti automatici del 12.04 funziona solo sulla 12.04
Avendo installato la 12.10 tu avrai gli aggiornamenti automatici della 12.10.
che poi essendo mi sembra ancora in beta arriveranno a raffica.
Non puoi del resto avere niente della 12.04 avendo installato un sistema nuovo

Vai sulla Dash scrivi agg e fai partire aggiornamenti - vedrai che ci saranno

Caro Paolo, l'è come vedi in allegato.
Ne ho scaricato un altro comunque ma è chiaro che quello dovrebbe funzionare, a meno che io non abbia dimenticato di caricare qualcosa.

sembra quasi che la tua sources list sia sballata

cosa hai scaricato di aggiuntivo?

fai
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
e mandala, o c'è qualchecosa che non è di Quetztal, oppure un repository sballato.
Non credo sia un difetto di connessione

Per chi sta seguendo il mio problema, sono andato di nuovo in aggiornamenti software ed ho riprovato a dare il comando, ricevendo la finestra di warning sopra riportata, poi dopo 5 minuti mi è comparsa l'icona sul launcher con 15 aggiornamenti da fare che si sono installati regolarmente.

Da quello che vedo ci sono alcuni righe con "precise", riapri sources.list e con la funzione di ricerca e sostituzione cambia precise con quantal

Ho fatto la sostituzione precise/quantal, ma se avvio io l'applicazione 'aggiornamenti software' si pianta con il solito warning, ripeto automaticamente li segnala e li installa.
