Ciao!
Ho scoperto l'esistenza degli Artwiz Fonts, dei caratteri che sembrano fatti apposta per essere inseriti nel mio conky...

Purtroppo non sono nei repository e per installarli ho seguido questa guida del mitico blog di urukrama.

I font vengono installati correttamente e in effetti riesco a visualizzarli da xfontsel.

Il problema è che non riesco ad usarli in conky... :'(
Ad esempio per usare il carattere Courier 10 Pitch facevo semplicemente:

Se faccio la stessa cosa con uno degli artwiz fonts (ad esesempio nu o anorexia), conky mi fa vedere il carattere (bruttissimo) di default...

Come posso fare per visualizzare correttamente gli artwiz fonts su conky? ???

Mah...alla fine, dopo diversi tentativi, ho risolto usando un port in ttf dei font, trovato qui: http://onedot.nl/artwiz-ttf

Funziona bene ma non sono riuscito a capire perchè non potessi usarli con l'instaallazione dell'archivio preso dal sito ufficiale... ::)

probabilmente conky accetta solo truetype, e magari quelli dei sorgenti non lo sono. infatti, devi attivare l'utilizzo dei font bitmapped per usarli nel sistema

evidentemente qualcuno aveva il tuo stesso problema e si è fatto un port in ttf

Non so, mi pare strano perchè sono dei font diffusissimi e sulla guida che avevo seguito diceva che dopo l'installazione i font potevano essere usati in conky...

In ogni caso, risolto ho risolto!

Ecco la risposta::

artwiz-latin1-1.1.tgz
Estraete la cartella nella vostra home, poi::

Codice: Seleziona tutto

sudo mv artwiz-latin1 /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc

Poi date in sequenza::

sudo rm /etc/fonts/conf.d/70-no-bitmaps.conf
sudo cp /etc/fonts/conf.avail/70-yes-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d
sudo fc-cache -f -v
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
