si, c è da dire però che questi problemi sono nati con l' arrivo della versione 11.04 con unity.

grazie daigo   solo non capisco come tu possa avere la barra superiore delle applicazioni pur avendo disattivato unity dal compiz manager ...

comunque si , cairo dock è una validissima alternativa.

Perchè quella non fa parte direttamente di unity ma è appmenu.
Ce l'hai anche in sessioni in cui unity non è presente come, ad esempio, cairo-dock o (addirittura) cinnamon.

ho seguito passo-passo la guida (si trattava di 3 comandi da terminale) ma al termine resta tutto uguale, e io resto senza la notification area applet.
cosa devo fare? durante le installazioni di quei ppa non sono stati riscontrati errori  :-\

io  non ho seguito quella guida avevo un deb più vecchio salvato e ho reinstallato quello, prova a vedere se nelle applicazioni da cairo dock lo trovi e se devi avviarlo .

ho appena constatato che anche disattivando unity (con sessione cairo-dock) nonn è possibie attivare il desktop cubico perchè spariscono i bordi alle finestre.
