[Desktop] Desktop completamente vuoto con Cinnamon e Gnome Shell

Salve a tutti! Come da titolo, il mio problema è che fino a poco tempo fa usavo Cinnamon come interfaccia grafica e mi sono trovato una meraviglia, ma qualche giorno fa all'avvio del pc il desktop mi compare completamente vuoto... c'è solo lo sfondo. La stessa cosa accade se provo a selezionare Gnome Shell. Qualcuno è in grado di spiegarmi cosa può essere successo?  
La mia scheda video è una Nvidia GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a e la versione dei driver è la 295.40.

Non conosco cinnamon, ma non è che sia disabilitata la Scrivania. Apri gnome-tweak-tool e controlla.

no, in gnome-tweak-tool è tutto in ordine anche perchè la sera prima l'avevo spento normalmente come sempre e il giorno dopo è successo questo...

Se apri la cartella Scrivania vedi i file presenti?
Se clicchi con il tasto destro sulla Scrivania ti permette di interagire con essa?

La cartella scrivania non posso aprirla perchè come già ho detto il desktop è completamente vuoto ne tanto meno posso interagire con la scrivania e pure volendo non posso accedere nemmeno a gnome-tweak-tool

Prova ad avviare da una sessione recovery(o da gnome-classic senza effetti) gnome-shell o cinnamon con i comandi:

postane il risultato se non si avviano.
Può essere utile sapere anche quali versione di ubuntu usi,quale versione della shell e cinnamon e se hai aggiunto qualche ppa riguardati questi software.

e come risultato sono scomparse le barre dei pannelli in alto e in basso -.-
Comunque la versione di ubuntu che uso è la 11.10, per la shell e cinnamon non so come si vede...

Da shell dai alt+f2 e dai il comando

gnome-terminal

dovrebbe aprirsi un terminale-
Da lì puoi avviare gnome-tweak-tools o nautilus per esplorare le cartelle.

Per la versione della shell, sempre da terminale

gnome-shell --version

Ma magari se avvii in recovery mode e ripari i pacchetti danneggiati risolvi automaticamente tutto. Prova.

Ho risolto disinstallando l'ultimo kernel rilasciato e tutto è tornato alla normalità.
