Ciao a tutti vorrei creare un server dove depositare i miei dati principali e accedere dai fari client?
Esiste un protocollo?

Potresti creare un server ftp,se cerchi nella documentazione trovi tutto cio' che ti puo' servire.

Oppure se sei un una lan con "ibrida" (win-linux) potresti usare samba o ancora un bel server html ....
prova a specificare le tue intenzioni...

La differenza sostanziale sta nella sicurezza, il protocollo ssh (più precisamente nel tuo caso Sftp) è molto più sicuro dell'ftp, inoltre ssh è molto più di un server ftp sicuro, è soprattutto un remote shell che ha moltissime utilità da usare in tutta sicurezza.
Secondo me se i tuoi client fanno parte di una rete locale, puoi tranquillamente usare un server ftp come vsftpd.

Di default il permesso di scrittura è disabilitato in vsftpd bisogna quindi modificare il file di configurazione e dare i giusti permessi alle cartelle.

Ora non ho un file di configurazione, ma se tu posti il tuo che si trova in /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf oppure /etc/vsftpd.conf possiamo configurarlo insieme.
Per esempio, vuoi che tutti possono accedere al tuo server o vuoi creare degli utenti appositi; vuoi permettere loro di cambiare i permessi dei files, devono accedere tutti in un unica area comune o ad ognuno la propria... ?

Allora incomincio ad installare il server fgtp dando da terminale il comando

E poi cosa faccio?

ciao, vedendo ora il file di conf già dovresti essere autorizzato alla scrittura, però prima bosogna configurare il metodo di autenticazione, vuoi creare degli utenti o già sono stati creati sul server? oppure vuoi che tutti abbiano accesso senza controlli?

solo una domanda:Se volessi controllare il server da un altro client come faccio?Nel senso siccome ho ubuntu server sul server vorrei dare i vari comandi da un altro pc senza toccare il server tutte le volte....È possibile?

Concordo con Stealth ma se non ti trovi a tuo agio con la linea dei comandi usa vnc server.
