Mettiamo che io usi inadyn
Poi per settare l'indirizzo web come faccio?
Io avrei bisogno di torrilandstaff.xx dove xx sta per qualsiasi cosa

Quando ti sei registrato su DynDNS, hai scelto un nome per il dominio - forse è lo stesso del nome utente?? Qualcosa tipo torrilandstaff.homepc.it (non credo che possano darti domini di secondo livello, cioè torrilandstaff.xx).

Dopodiché scarichi inadyn, è in un archivio zip, quindi deve essere reso eseguibile. A quel punto lanci il programma con la sintassi suggerita.
./inadyn --dyndns_server_name dyndns.it --dyndns_server_url /nic/update? -u <nomeutente> -p <password> -a <dominio.homepc.it>

Ma perché ho il dominio di terzo livello con homepc? Comunque quando mi sono registrato hanno voluto solo nome utente e email

DynDNS non offre domini di secondo livello. Non conosco servizi di dynamic DNS che offrono domini di secondo livello, al limite Google rimane sempre tuo amico.
Dopo esserti registrato, entra nel pannello di controllo di DynDNS -> Gestione Host e crea un host col dominio + IP pubblico attuale. Dopodiché, puoi lanciare inadyn, controlla che non dia errori, e penserà lui a tutto il resto.

Quindi lo configuro come indicato sul sito poi entro nel pannello di controllo di dynDNS lo configuro con l'attuale IP pubblico e poi lancio inadyn e dovrebbe agganciarsi al mio server e controllare quando cambia l'IP pubblico e ricollegarlo al link del sito web?
Ma tutto questo servizio di controllo dell'IP pubblico e di collegamento ad un link web non si può fare direttamente sul mio server senza servizi esterni che non mi lasciano usare domini di secondo livello?

Esatto.
Forse potresti mettere un server DNS, ma devi comunque agganciarti a qualche server DNS mondiale, altrimenti esisti solo nella tua rete di casa. Poi, di preciso non ti so dire. Per questo bisognerebbe sentire il parere di qualcuno più esperto.

So che ci si può agganciare ai DNS google che hanno indirizzo 8.8.8.8 e 8.8.6.6 ma non so come si faccia
