Stampa centralizzata usando un solo server cups in tutta la rete

Salve a tutti.
Pongo il seguente quesito: come si deve configurare il client locale affinché esegua la stampa utilizzando l'unico server CUPS all'interno della rete (nel quale sono configurate tutte le stampanti presenti) senza utilizzare il server CUPS locale? Nell'interfaccia WEB di CUPS non vi è alcuna preferenza in tal senso (del resto il server CUPS locale dovrebbe essere inattivo) e non sono riuscito a trovare alcuna riposta nell'help in linea né cercando in rete. In OpenSuse (non ricordo più da quanto tempo) c'è una funzione che permette tale utilizzo ma è attivabile unicamente da YaST (anche in questo caso l'interfaccia WEB di CUPS non è di aiuto in quanto è quella standard). Pertanto la cosa riesce (e anche bene) se il client è OpenSuse ma non se *buntu (o anche LM ed altri .deb).
Se qualcuno è più preparato di me e lo ritiene opportuno posso postare il contenuto della dir etc/cups di OpenSuse.

Ho risolto: basta creare il file /etc/cups/client.conf con il seguente contenuto:
