Ciao a tutti.
Premetto che siete dei grandi, grazie a voi ho risolto innumerevoli problemi di varia entità, ed ora il mio notebook funziona alla grande!!!

Da qualche giorno, quando lancio apt-get update mi appare questo messaggio alla fine:
W: GPG error: http://it.archive.ubuntu.com gutsy-updates Release: Le seguenti firme non erano valide: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key
W: È consigliabile eseguire apt-get update per correggere questi problemi
Se rilancio update il messaggio si ripresenta...

Qualcuno sa cosa significa?

pare che qualcosa non funzioni nei repository...puoi postare il tuo /etc/apt/sources.list?

secondo me non è un problema dei repo, bensì delle firme digitali: le hai cancellate involontariamente?

vai su Sistema --> Amministrazione --> Sorgenti software
e da lì vai sulla scheda Autenticazione. dovresti avere due chiavi di ubuntu. ce le hai?

Ho fatto come hai detto, e ce ne sono 3 di chiavi.

sembra sia un problema di proxy...tu hai una connessione proxata? o almeno eri proxato quando hai lanciato il comando?

Si sono "proxato" come dici tu; pensi che sia un dovuto a un blocco?

Stamattina ho lanciato l'update e non mi ha dato più nessun errore....  ::)

ho il medesimo problema in un laboratorio scolastico con proxy, però su alcune macchine non compare, mentre su poche altre si
