[RISOLTO][Grub] windows XP e poi Ubuntu

salve sul mio portatile avevo messo il mio winzoz creando le partizioni future per ubuntu poi ieri a casa del mio amico gli dovevo spiegare un po ubuntu ho visto la nuova versione 8.04 e stamattina nn poteve nn metterlo sul portatile...
ragazzi tutto bene ... dovro aggiornare varie cose... ma adesso il problema è che avvio il pc metto windows xp nulla nn mi parte... che devo fare... nn mi fate formattare il pc ho delle cose molto importanti aspetto un vostro aiuto.....

Nel wiki ce la procedura per creare un corretto dualboot con xp e ubuntu adesso non ho tempo quindi non riesco a darti il link ma se cerchi nel wiki ce tutto documentato perfettamente    (le faccine le ho messe perche me le ha fatte mettere una mia amica::) >:(

ho cercato ... ma sicuramente a cavolo... chi le trova mi da il link... ho cercato anche sul forum... mi sa che io e la lente di cerca siamo due cose opposte....

Posta il risultato del comando
sudo fdisk -l
e il contenuto di /boot/grub/menu.lst

sarebbe a dire??? che devo fare???? ignorante al 200 per 100 scusate e grazie...

Apri un terminale e digiti il comando
sudo fdisk -l
e posti qui quello che ti fa vedere a terminale.
Poi dallo stesso terminale dai
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
copi il contenuto della finestra dell'editor che si apre e posti il contenuto.

fatto come mi avete detto....
ma il difetto nn cambia... vi spiego cosa mi fa
mi appare la schermata principale dove mi chiede di scegliere il S.O. io clicco su winzozz... e mi appare per pochissimi secondi la seguente scritta
GRUB Loading Stage2.....
e poi ritorna alla schermata di dove devo scegliere l'SO

Sorvoliamo sulla natura del cd 
Inserisci il cd e lanci la console di ripristino. Dai il comando fixmbr ed il comando per riavviare. Dovrebbe partirti win in automatico senza farti vedere grub nè caricare ubuntu. A qs punto puoi ripristinare grub con qs guida

fatto con il disco originale... ma niente fatto tutto... tutto apposto... ma il problema rimane...
windows nn parte... sempre la stessa scritta appare e sempre per poki secondi....

Se appare ancora la scritta di grub non hai ripristinato correttamente il boot loader di XP.

lo fatto 2 volte... mi dice se winxp parte bene di nn continuare io ho messo S dopo il ?
e mi ha detto che il ripristino è stato fatto bene... poi alla fine ho scrito EXIT per uscire... che ho sbagliato???  come devo fare? cosa devo fare????

Scarica super grub disk e prova con quello

Prova a rifare la procedura di installazione del boot loader di XP usando oltre a fixmbr anche il comando fixboot (ovviamente dopo devi rispristinare grub). Se ancora non parte,  metodo alternativo: lancia da cd di xp la console di ripristino e poi dai i comandi
copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\
copy X:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\
dove X: è la lettera associata al tuo cd
In qs caso non devi ripristinare grub.

grazie sono riuscito  a partire con winzoz.... premetto che mi a funzionato solo fixboot.... i comandi con copy mi dava accesso negato.... adesso manca solo l'ultimo ritocco....
quando riavvio il pc la scelta di sistema operativo....

io ho risolto proprio come hai detto tu, ho avuto lo stesso problema dopo aver disinstallato mandriva... in pratica ero rimasto senza bootloader e con cd di WIN usato fixmbr e fixboot e il bootloader di win è riapparso come per magia.

solitamente il bootloader di win fa a fatica a mostrarti ubuntu  (bad) quindi devi ripristinare GRUB con la procedura che ti è stata linkata qualche post in UP  (yes)
