[Grub] errore 18 GRUB

mi si è aperto il menu.lst ma è vuoto

Allora togli il cd e poi quando ti dà errore 18 premi esc
Poi ti apparira una ">"
digita root=/dev/sda3
Se non parte
prova
root=/dev/sda
prima per favore prova questa procedura poi vediamo da live non ho ben capito che hai fatto nel frattempo spiegati

niente, ho semplicemente resettato l'mbr perchè non potevo partire con XP ma le partizioni EXT3 e swap con i files di installazione linux ubuntu ci stanno!

Bravo adesso non puoi più fare nulla reinstallando l'mbr di windows devi reinstallare ubuntu....Ti abbiamo detto per caso di rimettere l'mbr?

Vedi il grub si mette sull'mbr, se lo reinstalli parte solo windows e non puoi più accedere al grub!

Ok Ok ho capito... ho reinstallato il grub su hd0, successivamente al riavvio cambierò hd0,6 con hd02.

Fai così quando ti da error 18 premi esc
ti dara una scjermata nera con ">"
digita
root=(hd0,2) o root=/dev/sda3

premo esc ma nn succede nulla!!!

la prima dovrebbe fare al caso tuo sostituisci con (hd0,2)

sudo grub

find /boot/grub/stage1

setup (hd0,2)

quit

riavvia  e rimuovi il cd

quindi seguo il primo metodo?

Avviare il Live Cd

Aprire un terminale da Applicazioni -> Accessori -> Terminale e avviare grub con privilegi di amministrazione:

sudo grub

Il passo successivo serve per determinare la propria partizione di boot. Se si è già a conoscenza di questo dato, è possibile saltare il passo.

Digitare

find /boot/grub/stage1

Verrà data una risposta del tipo hdX o (hdX,Y)

Digitare:

root (hdX,Y)

#

Digitare:

setup (hdX,Y)

Questo è il passaggio chiave. In alternativa è possibile digitare:

setup (hdX)

nel caso si voglia riscrivere GRUB nel MBR. Nel primo caso invece GRUB verrà riscritto nella partizione contenente Linux.

Digitare:

quit

Riavviare il sistema e rimuovere il Live CD.

Si però non dare il penultimo comando perchè hai windows....ti ho postato sopra i comandi che devi dare
se ti ridà errore allora prova a rifare e dare
setup (hda)

dice file not found

e poi setup (hda)
