ciao, ho bisogno di essere guidato per una analisi dello stato attuale del sistema per capire gli errori (ed eventuali soluzioni). Ho molto smanettato negli ultimi giorni seguendo le indicazioni sia del forum che della documentazione, ho quindi usato super Grub, il cd di win (ad un certo punto mi chiede passw. di amministrat. che non ho mai dato, ho provato a copiare grub du floppy ma anche questa operazione non è potuta andare in porto ( o non sono stato capace). Ho assoluto bisogno di accedere a xp.!! (rischio il divorzio), perchè winzzozz è usato da mia moglie, ha molto materiale che le necessita per il suo lavoro

ho 2 Hd uno interno da 400G dovo ho montato Xp l'altro esterno (usb) da250G dove c'è ubuntu 8.04 in avvio mi da la schermata di scelta su quale s.o. aprire se ubuntu è tutto ok, se chiedo xp scermata nera per qualche secondo e poi mi rimanda alla fase di scelta del S.o.
La genesi del tutto è da far risalire ad un tentativo di avanzamento di versione di ubuntu da 8.04 a 8.10 a metà si è impastato e ho dovuto reinstallare 8.04 (e da qui non ho potuto più avviare xp)

La via più semplice è super grub disk, puoi ripristinare il mbr del disco fisso in modo che parta Xp, c'è una voce del tipo "MBR e Win". Ti conviene farlo col disco usb staccato.
Altrimenti col cd di installazione. Se ti chiede la passw dai Invio. i comandi sono
fixmbr
fixboot
non ti preoccupare dei messaggi cattivi.

LO SCHE RMOè tutto nero con il cursore in alto a sinix che lampeggia ...angoscia!!!!
Ho usato super grub ma non ho ottenuto risultati
ho provato con un cd di win digitando fixmbr e fix boot ci sono state delle modifichealla partizione ecco cosa veniva riportato:
C: fat 32    3745..Mb \device\harddisk0\partition1
H: fat 32    8765...Mb \device\harddisk0\partition2
poi ho dato avvio.......e sob! aiuto!!!!

Ok, hai per caso inserito il floppy?

Monta l'HD dove hai ubuntu e apri un terminale e digita
sudo gedit

e apri il file boot -> grub -> menu.lst

edit : e postalo qui

si avevo collegato un dispositivo floppy usb
non ho chiaro cosa significhi "montare l'hd dove c'è ubuntu"

vai su places -> computer e doppio click sul disco dove hai ubuntu e controlla che appaia sulla scrivania.

digitando sudo gedit mi appare una pagina bianca

ok, clicca su apri e trova il percorso che ti ho indicato.

ho selezionato solo la parte teminale spero vada bene

scusa njin, prima di procedere mi è venuto un dubbio: l'hd1,0 lo devo lasciare cosi o trasformare in 0,0?
