Certo che potrebbe essere, non è facile diagnosticare se e quale hardware ha problemi. Se hai un alimentatore prova a cambiarlo, altrimenti non lo comprerei solo per fare un test... vedi tu.

Prova a scaricarti ultimate boot cd che ti dicevo. All'interno hai alcuni tools di diagnostica, non solo dell'hd. Per quanto riguarda l'hd dovresti scoprire prima che marca è.
Per quanto riguarda gli smartmontools dovresti trovare una voce nel bios riguardo l'abilitazione di S.M.A.R.T.; purtroppo non so che bios tu abbia. Cerca e vedrai che troverai.
