Salve,
ho recentemente comprato un portatile Asus eeePc 701 (4Gb di hd, con 512 Mb di RAM). Ho deciso di installare Ubuntu eee con l'intenzione anche di mantenere Xandros (sistema presente di predefinito).
Ho seguito le istruzioni del Sito di Ubuntu eee utilizzando una chiavetta usb. Ho deciso di installare Ubuntu eee su un SD che ho comprato. Al riavvio dopo l'installazione purtoppo è comparso il seguente errore:

Grub loading, please wait... error 21.

Non riesco a far partire nè Xandros (è nell' hd) nè Ubuntu (è nell'SD). Premendo "Esc" al boot e scegliendo il dispositivo da caricare ottengo lo stesso errore.

Ho cercato su internet e anche altri utenti hanno avuto il mio problema (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/47754), ma a causa della mia scarsa conoscenza di inglese e di sistemi operativi non sono riuscito a capire un gran che...

C'è qualcuno che mi può aiutare? è possibile ripristinare il MBR originale? o ancora meglio usare sia xandros che ubuntu?

Sono veramente disperato...

Avviando Ubuntu con "l'Usb - live" le partizioni sono queste:
/dev/sda1 label: SYSTEM
/dev/sda2 label: USER
/dev/sda3 label  BIOS
/dev/sda4
questi  sono nell'HD del computer se non sbaglio

/dev/sdc1 ext3
/dev/sdc2 extended
/dev/sd5 swap
questi sono sull' SD

per ripristinare il grub come era inizialmente fai dalla live usb se una delle risposte è (hd0,0) altrimenti posta il risultato
poi sul menu.lst di Xandros inserisci e riavvii senza la penna usb inserita

se per te non è troppo disturbo, mi potresti spiegare che cosa ho fatto digitando quei comandi?

sudo grub # lancia il grub

find /boot/grub/menu.lst  # cerca la posizione del menù, quella di xandros essendo il primo installato doveva essere (hd0,0)

root (hd0,0) # imposta l'indirizzo del menu

setup (hd0) # lo scrive nel MBR del disco di boot

quit # esci dal grub
