problema dopo avvio grub [risolto]

Ciao a tutti ho un problema fastidioso che non riesco a eliminare. Dopo l'avvio di grub mi appare una scheramata nera con una scritta che dice testualmente "Undefined video mode number 31f". O aspetto 30 secondi e ubuntu si avvia oppure mi chiede di fare una scansione. Comunque non riscontro problemi di sorta volevo solo eliminare la suddetta schermata.
Ho installato Ubuntu 8.04 su un notebook hp serie pavillon dv6000 con scheda video nvidia.

Da terminale:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
Poi sostituisci tutti i 799 con 791

Ok. Adesso non mi chiede più nulla. L'unica cosa è che durante il caricamento la schermata con la scritta Ubuntu non era centrata però tutto funziona correttamente.
