bootloader(grub)

quando ho installato ubuntu sul mio pc nel quale c'era gia vista,ubuntu mi ha messo automaticamente il programma grub,per decidere all avvio quale s.o. usare,e fin qui tutto ok!!!
sul pc di mio papa' invece c'era solo ubuntu ed io ho installato nell'altra partizione windows xp,che ovviamente non ha installato grub,quindi all'accensione gli risulta come s.o. solo xp e lo fa partire.....
per poter "vedere anche ubuntu e quindi poterlo scegliere devo installare per caso un bootloader tipo grub????
e' sufficiente scaricarlo ed installarlo poi fa tutto lui??

scarica da internet supergrub disk. masteriggi la iso come immagine. poi lo inserisci al boot del pc e segui le istruzioni per ripristinare il grub. è semplice,è anche in italiano e ha anche la guida....

riesumo questta discussione chiusa poche ore fa perche il problema e' inerente al titolo....

avevo precedentemente provato linux ubuntu tramite wubi e poi successivamente tolto ed ore il mio boot e' cosi:
all'avvio devo scegliere fra :
-kernel xxxxxx  (ok)
-kernel xxxxxxx  (ok)
-kernel xxxxxxx    (ok)
-windows vista    (ok)
-windows vista    (perche doppio?????)

se scelgo linux tutto ok
se invece scelgo uno dei due vista mi compare una nuova scelta: 
-windows vista
-ubuntu
-ubuntu

perche tutti questi doppioni????
vorrei (solo per questioni d'ordine ovviamente)  avere una scelta fra i vari kernel e vista e basta,e' possibile????
come???

immagino che sia il primo dei due vista che ti da la scelta multipla che non vuoi più vedere..

basta che apri il file che hai postato così:

cerchi queste righe in fondo:

(non ti sbagliare, è il primo vista, non il secondo)
e metti # davanti alla prima riga, in modo che diventi:

salvi e riavvii, e ti troverai solo una voce di windows

se è solo una questione di ordine, basta così
volendo puoi anche ripristinare il bootloader di windows, che ti elimina definitivamente quella doppia scelta, e poi ripristinare di nuovo grub, ma non credo valga la pena perderci questo tempo

anche sul mio avevo la tua situazione, e mi è bastato quel #

ma come diavolo fa una persona un giorno a non sapere niente e poi a conoscere tutti questi comandi per il terminale???? ma quanto ci mettero' ad imparare??

un consiglio...stai sul forum e leggiti i problemi degli altri anche se non ci capisci un acca. guarda i comandi che suggeriscono gli altri utenti e al limite scrivili da qualche parte,possibilmente con una breve descrizione.
io ho fatto cosi...piano piano arrivi in vetta!!!

Dopo aver instalato xp dopo ubuntu all avvio mi partiva solo xp allora ho messo super grub e seguito la guida. Adesso mi si accende ubuntu. Come si fa ad avere sto benedetto dual boot.?
