Problemi aggiornamenti Ubuntu 8.10

Ciao ragazzi, è da qualche giorno che mi appare la notifica di aggiornamenti, accendo Update Manager e nessun aggiornamento è presente...quindi clicco "check" e mi viene restituito questo messaggio:
cosa significa? e che posso fare?
ps: non ho problemi di sorta, tutto gira come sempre.

Non so cosa siano quei reps che danno errore, di certo li ha aggiunti qualcuno (tu?) perchè non derivano da un'installazione standard. Se quei servers sono giù, apri il tuo sources.list con
vatti a cercare la linea che li riguarda e commentala, mettendoci un cancelletto (#) all'inizio. In quel modo verrà ignorata.
Salva, chiudi e dai un
e dovrebbe essere a posto così

Preferivo il vecchio modo.....tutto nello stesso posto >:(
Apri synaptic (menu sistema > amministrazione) e vai nel menu settings (configurazione?) > repositories (archivi dei pacchetti?), e vedi se lo trovi, per disabilitarlo, nel tab third party software.....non so come cavolo l'hanno tradotto, ho il sistema in inglese :-\
