ora entra nella cartella boot poi in grub e postami il file menu.lst.
Poi entra nella cartella etc e postami il file fstab così controlliamo gli UUID e mettiamo a posto il tutto.

fstab così è cortino, non credo sia tutto lì
se c'è dell'altro posta tutto il file, sempre dentro il tag code

per il menu.lst, devi cercarlo dentro la partizione di ubuntu
quella dove stavi guardando è la cartella boot della live, lì non lo trovi
nella stessa schermata, di fianco, trovi elencate le partizioni
quella di ubuntu è  3,3 gb media o 10,1 gb media, immagino
clicchi su quella giusta, entri nella cartella boot, poi grub, poi trovi il menu.lst e lo posti allo stesso modo

Ok, ora controlliamo che l'UUID sia corretto.

Se non ottieni questo risultato copia qui quello che risulta.

Poi già che ci sei. Nella stessa cartella /boot da cui ha preso /grub/menu.lst controlla i kernel che hai, così vediamo se hai allargato intrepid come temo o jaunty...

L'UUID è corretto.

Devi cercare di entrare nella cartella boot e dirmi i nomi dei kernel.

entrare in boot da cd live, non so come farlo.

ho fatto però diverse ricerche, ad es.
al lancio del disco si intravvede per un istante Isolinux 3.63 Debian  2008 (non sono sicuro) 7-15, ma suppongo riguarda il live disk

seguendo il percorso File system  - etc - kernel - premr ho trovato questo

al comando  ls /media invece nessuna reazione

Come hai trovato menu.lst devi trovare anche i kernel. Sono nella stessa cartella!
prima monta la partizione di ubuntu , poi entra in /media e dentro una sottocartella (disk o disk-1) trovi /boot.
