Ho il dual boot con windows.. lo ho dovuto reinstallare e in previsione avevo anche preparato il cd di Super Grub.. ma non c'è niente da fare.. né Super Grub né i metodi descritti nella sezione "Documentazione" funzionano. 
Sto scrivendo dalla Live di Jaunty..

Ecco cosa mi dà il terminale:

Ma tu vorresti recuperare il grub di ubuntu?

Beh si, che altro si può fare se no? A parte reinstallare ubuntu...

Hai già provato con la classicissima operazione? da quanto hai scritto credo di si
intendo da cd live andare sul terminale, sudo grub.... hai già fatto questa operazione?

ubuntu è in sda2, immagino
non so se hai già provato questo: da live (e ci sei) terminale, e dai
al riavvio dovrebbe andare

mi dice

error 15:file not found

che poi era quello che diceva anche Super Grub Disk

quando ti dice questo messaggio di errore?

sembra che non trovi il menu.lst

ubuntu è in sda2, vero?
se è così, monta la partizione, e cerca /boot/grub/menu.lst, e magari posta il contenuto

se non lo trovi, cercalo in sda3..

ubuntu è in sda3.. sda2 è la /home

ehm.. come si fa a cercare il file menu.lst?

allora ripeti l'operazione di prima modificata in questo modo:
