Dopo avanzamento di versione: an error occurred while mounting.

Ciao a tutti, ho aggiornato da hardy a lucid, ma al riavvio mi appare il seguente errore:

An error occurred while mounting

Se premo "s" per avviare ugualmente il sistema, ricevo il seguente messaggio:

The disk drive for / is not ready or not present

Che faccio? Mi date una mano a risolvere?

Ho provato, ma non ho risolto nulla: sempre stesso errore.  ???

Ma nessuno conosce una soluzione a questo problema? Mmm...molto incoraggiante...  >:(
Mi sta venendo l'allergia usando winzozz...  ::)

Aggiungo che durante l'avanzamento mi sono apparsi solo due errori:
- Impossibile installare /var/cache/apt/archives/flashplugin-nonfree_10.0.45.2ubuntu1_i386.deb
- flashplugin-installer non aggiornato.

Per il resto è andato (apparentemente) tutto bene.

Anche io sto avendo lo stesso problema in Lucid... lo avevo installato quando era ancora in RC e avevo ricompilato il kernel senza problemi... poi dopo qualche aggiornamento il kernel ricompilato non mi parte piu' proprio con questo errore (anche ricompilandolo nuovamente ho lo stesso errore), pero' il kernel gia' compilato dei loro pacchetti a me funziona...

ho provato il kernel 2.6.34 con queste opzioni ma il problema si ripresenta
qualche suggerimento?
