[Risolto] Errore nel gestore pacchetti e aggiornamenti

Salve a tutti, premettendo che sono un caso disperato e che sono profondamente ignorante in materia vi prego di essere precisi come se parlaste con uno che non ha mai usato Ubuntu.
ho un problema con il gestore degli aggiornamenti e dell'installazione pacchetti: tutte le volte che lo apro o comunque che il sistema ne richiede l'utilizzo mi esce fuori una finestra di errore di questo genere:

Si è verificato un errore

Sono forniti i seguenti dettagli:

E: La riga 5 nel file /etc/apt/sources.list non è corretta (dist)
E: Impossibile leggere l'elenco delle sorgenti.
Correggere il problema nella configurazione del repository.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Come devo procedere per approfondire meglio l'errore in modo che possiate avere informazioni in più per aiutarmi?

il problema è la riga 5, forse hai aggiunto in modo errato un repository esterno, devi rieditare il sources.list:

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

ti si apre l'editor con il file che hai visualizzato prima, puoi o cancellare la quinta riga:

deb http://asher256-repository.tuxfamily.org/

oppure mettergli davanti il cancelletto per escluderlo:

# deb http://asher256-repository.tuxfamily.org/

Salvi il file ed esci, poi da terminale ricarichi:

sudo apt-get update

e aggiorni:

sudo apt-get upgrade

Ti ringrazio, adesso sembra essere passato oltre l'errore. Mi serve solo più un modo per poter interfacciare la chiavetta wireless in modo da poter leggere la rete. così potrà finalmente fare gli upgrade del caso. C'è forse un modo offline di poter configurare un driver per ovviare quest'altro inconveniente? O è meglio che apra un altro topic in sezione più consona?

Mi serve solo più un modo per poter interfacciare la chiavetta wireless in modo da poter leggere la rete. così potrà finalmente fare gli upgrade del caso.
