forse facciamo prima a dire, quando devi editare il gurb, vai alla ricerca di menu.lst (grub.legacy) oppure /etc/default/grub (grub o grub 2)

allora da premettere che il grub ragiona in questa maniera: l'hard disk chiamato /dev/sda il grub lo chiama anche hd0 cioè sta per hard disk 0; l'hard disk chiamato /dev/sdb lo chiama anche hd1 cioè sta per hard disk 1.ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo fdisk -l

cosa ti dice?? Ti dice che il boot è nel hard disk che grub chiama 1, quindi nel tuo secondo hard disk con ubuntu all'interno e che si trova nella prima partizione quindi /dev/sdb1.Boot from (hd1,1) ext 3

Quando tu aggiorni la versione, questa nn va a modificare anche grub, il grub rimane sempre quello della prima installazione. Dovevi recuperare grub.legacy e nn grub 2.Io avevo intallato la versione 9.04
