il problema sembra di network-manager prova a disinstallarlo con
poi di nuovo
Ps non vedrai più l'icona dovrai provare con il browser per vedere se sei connesso

eseguito la rimozione del pacchetto con succwsso (penso), dopo il riavvio non mi spunta più.... tuttavia se apro firefox....nessuna connessione >:(

riprova sudo dhclient eth0 (prima spegni e riaccendi il router) se non va fallo 2 3 volte

Rputer spento e riacceso.... dhclient eseguito 3 volte... nesun risultato... firefox mi informa che è sempre impossibile contattare il server

Direi che quella scheda di rete ha qualche problema hardware, è su PCI o integrata nella scheda madre?
In ogni caso con fastweb bisogna lasciare impostato il DHCP (cioè che prenda l'ip in automatico)

la scheda non è integrata, è su PCI. che abbia qualche problema è possibile... infatti, come ho detto qualche post fa mi aveva dato problemi (risolti x fortuna, la uso da due anni) anche su windows:

merit non so che dirti, da quanto ho potuto vedere in giro, quella scheda da parecchi problemi (alcuni parlano di un bug nel driver dmfe) non so forse ti conviene , che ti fai spostare la discussione in hardware o magari prova a postare direttamente li. Ma con versioni precedenti di ubuntu ti funzionava o non hai mai provato?

Se è PCI e in effetti da problemi, meglio che ne compri una diversa (tipo una D-Link) e risolvi il problema con circa 20€
