Buon giorno
  volendo passare dalla versione 11.04 alla 11.10 clikko il pulsante "esegui avanzamento" dell'applicazione "gestore  di aggiornamenti" ma ad un certo punto il processo termina con questi messaggi di errore:

W:Impossibile recuperare http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis ... urces  404  Not Found [IP: ]

(ovviamente ho cancellato gli indirri IP) che cosa devo fare?

apri un terminale e scrivi: gksu software-properties-gtk
nella prima schermata cambia server, chiudi sofwtare properties e scrivi: sudo apt-get update
poi riprova. se ancora hai problemi, disabilita i repository backports e poi riprova.

dopo che ho dato sudo apt get update mi da questo messaggio di errore:
Impossibile scaricare alcuni file di indice: saranno ignorati o verranno usati quelli vecchi.
repository backports? non li ho nella lista
che faccio >:(

se incolli l'output del comando è meglio, così si da un'occhiata ai repository.

questo è l'output del comando sudo apt-get update

hai i repository incasinati. nel terminale scrivi:
gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

cancellane il contenuto e sostituiscilo con quello di natty narval 11.04 che trovi qui http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Repository/SourcesList
salva il file, chiudi gedit e dai sudo apt-get update e vediamo che succede.

:'( ho più di un file nella cartella apt e nessuno si chiama sources.list

ok ho finalmente trovato il file sources.list, ma non riesco a modificarlo con abiword come faccio a togliere la protezione ?

ti avevo scritto il comando da usare per editare il file. non sei su ubutnu? usi altre interfaccie?

uso xubuntu, comunque dovrei aver risolto, ho disbilitato da gestore aggiornamenti tutti i repository che avevo, ho aggiunto quelli che mi hai suggerito ed ora l'aggiornamento dovrebbe filare liscio.
