[risolto] crash dopo aggiornamento a 17.10, se inattivo

Mi è stato fatto notare che in questo topic ho parlato di più problemi. Me ne scuso. Non cambio tutti i post che ormai ho ... postato, ma modificando questo primo post focalizzo su un problema. Sia nella versione di Kubuntu aggiornata da 17.04 sia nella istallazione da zero, ho un problema di mini-crash.
Cioè dopo un certo tempo di inattività il pc va in "ibernazione" (dico io) e né muovendo il mouse né premendo tasti della tastiera si risveglia: devo fare alt+stamp+r e poi alt+stamp+e e allora ho un logout, o meglio ho la schermata di login. Questo è un problema. Ovviamente non ho attivato né prima né dopo l'aggiornamento l'opzione suspend session, che del resto non è selezionata; qualche idea?

Aggiungevo, quando ho creato il topic quest'altro problema, che mi sembrava connesso, ma che adesso lascerei perdere: una partizione ntfs dopo il crash viene smontata.

Mi correggo: il problema della partizione non montata NON è risolto: oggi me l'ha fatto ancora.
E quento all'altro problema: non capisco se sia ibernazione o uno "sloggamento", so che premendo alt+stamp+r e alt+stamp+e mi ritrovo con la schermata di login, ma le applicazioni sono state chiuse "violentemente".

Ieri sera ho fatto una prova: settare il suspend dopo un certo numero di minuti. La cosa funziona, nel senso che premendo il tasto di accensione in due secondi il pc riparte, ma così non va per tutto il tempo della sospensione, per esempio, amule.

Allora ho sto facendo un'altra prova: prima di allontanarmi dal pc chiudo tutti i programmi diversi da quelli della systray, cioè chiudo per esempio firefox, qupzilla e thunderbird, ma non amule e qtox. E sembra che la cosa funzioni.
Ma è un espediente. Spero che la Canonical corregga il problema alla radice, anche se non è "critical".

Penso il problema dei crash sia in firefox.

Sono sempre più convinto che il problema sia firefox: manda in crash il sistema. Idee?

Provo a disabilitare le ultime estensioni di Firefox.
Intanto credo di poter dire che i due problemi che ho segnalato in questo thread sono connessi: la mancata montatura della partizione NTFS consegue il logout "violento" con alt+stamp+e, dovuto al crash.

No, anche avendo chiuso firefox, il sistema va in "mini-crash", mini nel senso che per uscirne non occorre un reset, ma basta un logout (violento: con alt+stamp+r e alt+stamp+e).
Poco fa sono tornato, dopo mezz'ora al PC, muovendo il mouse è venuta fuori la schermata dello screensaver, ho digitato la password e mi è apparso lo schermo nero con visibile il mouse; allora ho prmuto alt+tab e mi apparivano le finestre dei programmi aperti, come pure premendo ctrl+esc mi appariva regolarmente la finestrella del system monitor. ma non si vedeva il desktop né la barra in basso (ho KDE), solo nero. Allora ho dovuto rassegnarmi a un logout violento (dopo il quale come sempre la partizione ntfs non viene montata automaticamente).
Mi potete dare una mano?

Ho seguito quanto detto qui, eliminando .Xauthority dalla home.
Per un po' funziona. Ma poi no, c'è ancora stato un mini-crash e stavolta (avevo lasciato aperto firefox) più grave: nessuna risposta a mouse e tastiera. Logout violento e nuovo login.

e al momento mi ha fatto arrabbiare perché mi ha cancellato un po' di configurazioni plasma, ma poi sembra che abbia risolto il problema. Appena ne avrò la certezza metterò "risolto".

Si ripetono i crash. Sulla nuova istallazione mi viene detto di istallare driver proprietari, ma graficamente la cosa non riesce allora faccio quanto segue, da terminale.

Oggi ho provato a vedere se la causa dei crash è amule, e ho lasciato per 6 ore accesso il PC senza amule. Ma è andato in crash lo stesso.

Stesso comportamento su altro PC, aggiornato da Kubuntu 17.04 (dove andava tutto bene) a Kubuntu 17.10: crash durante periodi di inattività del PC. E si tratta di diverso hardware (HD non SSD, 1tb, microprocessore non Intel ma Amd, per esempio).
Quello che mi stupisce è che nessun altro utente di Kubuntu dica niente: capita solo a me?

Devi reinstallare se vuoi tornare indietro ma in questo caso meglio se torni alla 16.04 dato che il supporto della 17.04 terminerà a gennaio 2018

Ci sono delle novità: lo stesso problema dei crash l'ho anche con PcLinuxOs e con Neon, sulla stessa macchina. Per questo ho postato sul forum di KDE Neon, in quanto il problema mi pareva fosse di KDE.
Sono arrivato alla conclusione che si tratta di un problema di scheda grafica Intel, che non ha ancora i driver per la 17.10 e del kernel.
Ho fatto 4 cose:
1) creato il file 20-intel.conf nella cartella, che ho pure creato /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d, e dentro vi ho scritto le seguenti linee

3) Ho provato a cambiare vari kernel: 4.10, 4.12, 4.13 e 4.14. I peggiori sono stati il 4.12, il 4.13 e il 4.14, miglioramenti ne ho notati col 4.10. Non sono riuscito a installare con ukuu il 3.12, che aveo trovato su un forum come risolutivo.

4) Ho disabilitato nel BIOS l'hyperthreading.

Situazione attuale
In sostanza in questo momento ho a) dei crash mentre uso il PC (rari, e che risolvo con alt+stamp+r e alt+stamp+e), b) dei crash mentre il PC è inattivo per tempi piuttosto lunghi, per lo più non dei veri crash totali, nel senso che c'è lo schermo nero senza desktop, ma posso richiamare le finestre dei programmi attivi (con alt+tab) e lavorarvi tranquillamente, come anche internet rimane attivo. Anche qui risolvo con alt+stamp+r e alt+stamp+e oppure premo leggermente il tasto di accensione e ho il logout regolare.

Sì, ho fatto diverse prove, anche lasciando acceso il PC per 8 ore inattivo non va in crash. Credo che ciò sia dovuto: 1) alle modifiche di cui ho sopra parlato e 2) alla creazione di un nuovo utente (c'era qualcosa nell'utente duns che provocava i crash, la cosa strana è che li provocava in tre diversi so sul medesimo PC, di cui uno, Neon, assolutamente nuovo: mah, non capisco).
