rete non disponibile dopo avanzamento 18.04 -> 20.04

Ho xubuntu, ho fatto l'aggiornamento con do-release-upgrade, e sembrava andato tutto bene, senonché dopo il reboot finale mi sono trovato senza connessione di rete, e tra l'altro cliccando sull'iconcina del network manager e cambiando connessione questa poi a un certo punto non si lasciava più cliccare.

Qualcosa funziona, perché attaccando alla porta usb il cellulare in tethering ho internet tranquillamente.

Ho due schede di rete, credo perché quella della MB non era gigabit

Cosa posso fare per controllare come mai non va?

Da terminale prova a dare il seguente comando:

sudo ethtool -s enp4s0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg on

attendi qualche secondo e dovrebbe collegarsi.
