La ho creata a mano per salvare documenti personali che dovevano essere importanti.
Poi non sono andato avanti perchè distratto da altri progetti.

È impostato un backup o qualsiasi altro tipo di salvataggio "automatico", che ha quella cartella per destinazione e, non trovandola, potrebbe ricrearla?

potresti anche eseguire

Prova ad entrare nella directory che contiene la tua cartella da eliminare e posta il risultato di "lsattr NomeCartella". La partizione sulla quale operi e si trova questa cartella è NTFS, o EXT4?

Non sei riuscito a copiare tutto l'output.
Non so se servirà a qualcuno per verificare se nel tuo sistema c'è qualche servizio "sospetto" comunque fai così:

e alleghi qui unFile.txt che troverai nella tua Home

Inoltre per non escludere niente, posta anche dal tuo utente (non da superuser)

Potresti provare con iotop permette di vedere quali processi accedono ai file, magari si tratta di un demone che crea la cartella ad ogni avvio.
Con initctl list ottieni una lista di ciò che si avvia quando avvii il tuo pc, salvi il risultato sul disco (initctl list >> res.log) poi avvii un live del tuo sistema operativo immetti nuovamente il comando salvando il risultato sul disco e confronti i file alla ricerca di qualche servizio di troppo. Potrebbe non esserci nulla di anomalo perchè un demone autorizzato ha delle impostazioni falsate ma provare non costa nulla.
