Bene, non sapevo esistesse il pacchetto deb, devi scaricare quello della tua architettura, se hai Ubuntu a 64bit il primo, se hai 32bit il secondo, per capire quello che hai nel menù di Kubuntu cerca in sistema - centro delle informazioni.

Da quella finestra '' (che automaticamente ti propone i file usati recentemente) devi 'navigare' fin dove c'è il file iso che vuoi utilizzare, selezionarlo e andare avanti.

ora se tutto è andato a buon file elcher dovresti trovarlo nelle applicazioni.
Finalmente credo essere riuscito: una certezza dopo avviato Etcher e Select image ho dato da search Kubuntu-18.04.1-Desktop-amd64.iso Per farlo partire Clic Open va su Select driver. Posso continuare e va sè o devo scegliere.

Una volta selezionata l'immagine e la chiavetta (solitamente se non ha più chiavette inserite, la seleziona automaticamente), devi solo cliccare su Flash o qualcosa del genere, alla fine ci sono solo 3 bottoni da usare, uno per individuare l'immagine ISO, la seconda per individuare la chiavetta USB e la terza per flashare la chiavetta, non puoi sbagliare.

In effetti avevo cliccato su USB Flash Disk e non su Flash. Avevo anche una San Disk inserita che ora ho rimosso. Ha proceduto regolarmente avanzando percentualmente. A questo punto Spengo il tutto togliendo anche la Pen USB, poi reimmettendola e Avvio? Aspetto tue istruzioni!

La chiavetta la lasci inserita e riavvii, se non parte la chiavetta ma il tuo sistema operativo, molto probabilmente dovrai impostare nel bios la chiavetta USB come priorità di boot. Comunque prima controlla se parte senza toccare nulla...

No parte il sistema operativo Kubuntu. Ho letto servono i tasti funzione in fase di avvio. Si parlava di f2 o f8 o anche f12 ma anche di Esc. Credo di avere UEFi ma non sono sicuro.
Serve la combinazione con tasto fn? Un aiuto e ringraziamento anticipato.
