Problema xorg.conf

Ieri, ho installato kubuntu, bellissimo kde...
Ma non ero soddisfatto, sentivo la mancanza del mio amato beryl (che installai senza problemi su ubuntu)
Installo i driver, riavvio e....... Mi esce il trattino bianco --> _ E + niente... così dalla recovery mode modifico il file xorg.conf sostituendo: nividia con nv e come per magia kubuntu ritorna a funzionare, ma ho un bel grosso problema....
Kubuntu è diventato lentissimo... il xorg occupa quasi tutta la ram (1024.... E' diventato persino più lento del mio vecchio xp pieno zeppo di virus xD

Ti deluderò (oppure sorprenderò) dicendoti che il file di configurazione è sempre lo stesso: /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Il "recovery mode" è solo un modo per dire che il sistema viene caricato senza far partire automaticamente l'interfaccia grafica e qualche altro servizio superfluo. Di fatto la macchina va al 100% delle potenzialità (non è il recovery mode di Windows che carica pochissimi driver).

Alla fine della fiera, se avviando con startx funziona bene, vuol dire che xorg è ben configurato e il problema sta altrove.

Ti rendi conto della stupidaggine che faresti?
Hai appena detto che il sistema funziona (compresa l'interfaccia grafica se avviata da terminale) e tu formatteresti tutto per non scrivere una parolina a terminale?
Mi sembra eccessivo e controproducente: quando dovesse ripresentarsi il problema cosa faresti? Una nuova formattazione?E poi, un'altra?

Prova a postare il file di configurazione (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) e vediamo di affrontare il problema

Kubuntu è diventato lentissimo...

ma avevi installato solo il driver o anche beryl? oltre all'xorg.conf che ti è stato richiesto di postare, posta anche l'output di ps -aux. magari ci si trova qualche cosa che rallenta tutto. (ricordati di allargare bene il terminale, altrimenti non si leggono i programmi in funzione

)

ho solo installato i driver nvidia.. Da notare anche che quando avvio kubuntu, nella finestra dove dice: caricamrnto finestre, caricamento kde ecc. quando arriva ad avvio desktop per 3 secondi si vede una schermata bianca con puntini neri...

ho guardato ps -aux e vedo solo X che succhia un 25%. prova a dare top da terminale quando noti il rallentamento (o anche subito se vedi che il sistema è lento in partenza) e poi fai la stessa cosa dopo aver avviato inrecovery e aver fatto partire X con il comando startx. poi incolla entrambi gli output così si fa un confronto. inoltre potresti postare anche l'ouput di lsmod in entrambe le situazioni?

Infine dando top, sulla modalità normale Il Xorg varia, fino a raggiungere il 97% della cpu, mentre nella recovery si mantiene basso
