[Ati] screensaver vanno in crash

Qualsisasi salvaschermo imposti mi va in crash.
Ho una radeon 9600 su ubuntu 6.10 con i driver open source integrati in XOrg
Il supporto 3D sembra correttamente attivato anche se il seguente comando mi da un warning:

glxinfo|grep rendering

Installato beryl e modificata manualmente la configurazione di XOrg (in rosso):

Il 3D è OK ma i salvaschermo non funzionano: avete qualche suggerimento?

Hai provato a controllare se ti funzionano mettendo solamente
Option      "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps"      "true"
nella sezione device, invece che tutte le altre della stessa sezione?
Magari prima di fare il cambio fai una copia di back up di xorg.conf cosi' eventualmente la rispristini piu' semplicemente.

provato ma il risultato non cambia ( mi chiedo che ci stanno a fare tutte quelle informazioni - prese da linux magazine - se non servono a niente, infatti dopo il cambiamento che mi hai suggerito funziona tutto ugualmente a parte i salvaschermo)

ora che ci penso mi ricordo che subito dopo l'installazione di ubuntu e del 3D i salvaschermo funzionavano, quello che non ricordo è da quando non funzionano più!

Ti ringrazio , ma il problema era sicuramente preesistente al 04/04/07.
Poco prima di leggere il tuo post, pensando che fosse un problema di driver, ho provato, seguendo una guida, a installare i driver ati........
non l'avessi mai fatto! non funzionava più niente......
Dopo vari tentativi sono riuscito, in modalità recovery, a disinstallare i driver e riconfigurare xorg.conf, riportandomi alla situazione precedente. Adesso è tutto OK.
Poi ho letto la tua risposta, ho dato un'occhiata al link, in effetti la guida e un pò diversa da quella che ho seguito io, ma non voglio più correre rischi, se poi il risultato deve essere quello di impostare lo screensaver nero perchè gli altri sono lenti  e "sparano la cpu al 100%".
