[Wireless] Ma cosa mi serve per la mia scheda di rete?

Ciao a tutti, premetto che ho letto le istruzioni contenute nello sticky topic ma non sono riuscito a far funzionare il la mia connessione senza fili dal mio laptop. Mi pare però di aver capito che il sistema vede una eth0 che è la scheda ethernet con la quale mi connetto al modem Alice ( Wifi ), una eth1 che non ho capito a che serve ( all'inizio mi sembrava che fosse la wlan ) e la lo.

Ho anche scaricato Wicd ma ... niente; parte, lavora un po' e poi niente di fatto ritorna sul bottone connect.

Mi pare, ma non sono sicuro, che non riconosca proprio la mia scheda wireless ( si chiama così? Scusate l'ignoranza ).

Dunque la mia scheta è una Intel(R) Pro Wireless 2200BG Network Connection e facendo un po' di ricerche su internet ho trovato un sito che spiega come configurare la cosa ma mi sembra un po' complicato ( configurazioni del Kernel duemila download ecc. ecc. ).
Ho trovato anche questo http://packages.debian.org/search?keywo ... 200-source .
Prima di incasinare il sistema vi chiedo .... può essere utile? E' un semplice driver da installare?

Non so se può essere utile ma il mio laptop è un Acer Aspire 1690.

Se ho omesso qualche dato fatemi sapere che lo fornisco ( .... se ci riesco ... )
