PCMCIA CONNCET CARD GPRS/EDGE/UMTS Option della TIM

Salve ragazzi e si!!! anche io sono da 3 gioni passato a linux ed è favoloso. Siete fantastici ^_^ Vorrei postarmi il mio problema riguardante la mia connessione. Premetto che ho una connessione con la PCMCIA CONNECT CARD GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/ della tim marcata Opion. Il mio problema è che nn capisco se il sistema ha effettivamente riconosciuto la scheda o meno ho seguido le varie guide postate sul forum ma nada nessuna di esse mi hanno aiutato. Voglio puntualizzare che sn un newbie e quindi nn ne capisco molto. Quindi vi posto tutto quello che ho fatto...

1. ho installato ubunatu versione 6.10 (non per i processori a 64 bit) scaricata direttamente dal sito senza alcuna modifica aggiuntiva al kernel, e con la pcmcia inserita nell'apposito slot.

2. Terminata l'installazione sono andato da terminale e ho lanciato il comando serial_cs
.
3. Ho fatto un dmesg e come scritto in una guida ho copiato il valore vendor e product, che nel mio caso ho digitato questo comando (loggato root) sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x0000 product=0x0000 (da premettere che nn mi convinge tanto questo comando... perchè mi sembra strano che i valori siano uguali a zero.. ma cmq in un post su questo sito c'era di eseguire in questa maniera e così ho fatto.

4. Ho configurato il tutto sembre da terminale lanciando un sudo pppconfig , ho creato una nuova connessione, aggiunto i relativi dns primario e secondario, aggiunto anche la stringa di inizializzazione del modem, inserito il numero da comporre (*99***1#) ecc...

Fatto tutto se lascio come porta /dev/ttyUSB0 mi da un errore se invece nella connessione inserisco /dev/ttyS0 e poi sempre da terminale dò il pon nome_scelto_della_connessione_creata nn mi dice nulla e nemmeno mi segnala errori.

Adesso la mia domanda è visto che lanciando il comando sudo cardtcl eject (comando per togliere in modo corretto la pc connect card) mi da errore dicendomi che è in esecuzione quando invece nn si connette assolutissimamente... il sistema mi ha riconosciuto la pc card? ha installato i driver? mi dareste i vari parametri corretti per il funzionamento della connessione da parte della TIM ? grazie ragazazzi aiutatemi voi please...

Ragazzi ho trovato questo link http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=203342 dv ci dn i driver da scaricare ma nn sn riuscito a caricarli sul mio ubuntu 6.10, in pratica creo una cartella su /home/nome_account/src/ e poi all'interno carico i file compressi e scaricati da dv mi linka quella guida ma appena estreggo (tar xvfz nome_file) ed entro nelle apposite cartelle e lancio il make lui alla fine mi rivela degli errori in entrami i file. Vi prego aiutatemi voi pleaseeeeee . . .

se posso..quella guida e' piuttosto vecchia..non c'e' piu' bisogno di caricare il firmware..e il modulo ora si chiama "option"(non sempre selezionato nel kernel..purtroppo)
