[RISOLTO]Installazione ChiavettaTim E1800/MT191UP su Ubuntu?

Mi ritrovo con 2 chiavette: una Tim E1800 mentre l'altra è MT191UP. La sim con l'abbonamento potrei metterla in qualsiasi delle 2 giusto?
In ogni caso, nessuna delle 2 veniva riconosciuta ma poi sono riuscita a far riconoscere la E1800 con il comando "sudo mount -o loop /dev/sr0 huawei/"
Ora mi ritrovo con una directory TIM CHIAVETTA con file riguardanti linux (
) ma non ho la minima idea su cosa fare.
Qualcuno potrebbe illuminarmi? Grazie mille!

Non è del tutto esatto!
Una chiavetta Internet può funzionare in due modalità: CDROM e MODEM. La prima (CDROM) serve per installare (automaticamente su Windows) il driver per farla funzionare. La seconda (MODEM) viene attivata dal driver, una volta installato, come viene attaccata al PC la chiavetta, per permettere la connessione a Internet. Tu non hai fatto altro che montare il "CDROM" sul filesystem
Intanto che grandissima botta di c... , i drivers per Linux sono rari!
Non è detto che funzioni (l'installazione intendo) ma direi che dovresti dare il comando
dove
PATH è il percorso sotto cui è stato fatto il montaggio di cui sopra, che dall'immagine che hai postato non mi è del tutto chiaro(*)
Se l'installazione ha successo, dovrebbe essere sufficiente: staccare la chiavetta, riavviare il PC e ricollegare la chiavetta
(*) potrebbero aiutare anche i comandi:

PATH è il percorso sotto cui è stato fatto il montaggio di cui sopra, e che dovrebbe venire fuori dal comando mount

Se l'installazione di cui sopra non dovesse funzionare, per darti maggiore supporto, è meglio se segui queste piccole indicazioni.
Attacca la chiavetta alla porta USB, anche tutte e due insieme se hai due porte USB libere. Apri il terminale e dai questo comando
verrà fuori un output con dei numeri e scritte varie. Riporta quell'output qui sul Forum, aiuterà ad identificare con precisione i tuoi dispositivi

Grazie mille per l'aiuto!
Ho dato il comando e mi è partito l'installer dal terminale ma ho qualche dubbio sull'input da inserire. Per spiegarmi meglio ho fatto lo screen:

Dall'immagine che hai postato, non mi sembra che l'installazione dei drivers abbia funzionato
Cosa non ti è chiaro?
Per la prossima volta:
se non è necessario, non postare immagini per gli output. Copia e incolla i messaggi di testo che vengono fuori sul terminale tra i tag [ code ] OUTPUT QUI [ / code ] (scritti senza spazi) in modo che venga fuori qualcosa del genere
Puoi anche usare il bottone "Codice" nella toolbar della risposta

La chiavetta Huawei E1800 è un vecchio modello che dovrebbe essere riconosciuto automaticamente da Ubuntu 14.04, tramite usb-modeswitch (già instllato di default). Sicuro che non venga riconosciuta?

Ho già provato quel tutorial. Il punto è che non viene riconosciuta perciò non ho nessun dispositivo da selezionare.

Due cose al volo, poi appena posso torno ad aiutarti ... oppure nel frattempo lo farà qualcun altro:
1) Il comando cat esiste, hai scritto male qualcosa
2) Le chiavette le hai collegate ad una porta USB di tipo 2 oppure USB di tipo 3? Quest'ultima la riconosci dalla scritta SS vicino alla porta, oppure per la linguetta blu. Sulle porte USB di tipo 3 queste chiavette non vengono riconosciute sempre correttamente, è un problema del driver che gestisce il protocollo USB (su Linux)

Per quanto leggo entrambe le chiavette sono state riconosciute e switchate in modalità MODEM.
Facciamo un'altra verifica: spegni il notebook. Stacca le chiavette se collegate. Riavvia il notebook. Collega le chiavette (una o entrambe) ad una porta USB 2.0, aspetta un 10 secondi, apri il terminale e dai questi comandi
poi posta qui i due output

Se può essere utile ho riprovato con il comando "sudo /PATH/install_linux" e quando mi chiede " input the absolute path for install[/usr/local/Chiavetta_Internet]:" ho inserito /usr/bin ed è uscito:

Il mio è un Acer Aspire 5735Z quindi dovrebbe avere tutte e 3 le porte usb 2.0

Boh ... da quanto leggo, mi pare che entrambe le chiavette vengano riconosciute e portate in modalità MODEM. Non so che dirti, rimetto la parola a qualcuno più esperto di me in questo ambito

Io navigo con una chiavetta E1800 con abbonamento TIM fin dalla Ubuntu 10.x e non ho mai avuto problemi.
La chiavetta è sempre stata riconosciuta e l'avvio l'ho sempre fatto da Network Manager.
La configurazione l'ho fatto seguendo le guide.

Ciao, al solo scopo di traccia, puoi fare questa operazione anche tu, visto che sul tuo sistema (Ubuntu 14.04?) la chiavetta (Huawei E1800) funziona?
- stacca la chiavetta Internet se collegata
- riavvia il notebook
- collega la chiavetta (ad una porta USB 2.0?)

Per caso dovrei installare MobilePartner? Nella cartella Linux della chiavetta c'è il pacchetto di MobilePartner e le istruzioni contenute in "readme.txt":
--How to Install----------------------
*You need login as root*
1. Run "install" in TERMINAL to install MobilePartner
eg: # bash /<path>/install
2. If you had installed this software in your system before, you will get a prompt: "The software is exist, do you want overwrites? ([Y]/[N])", enter "y" to overwrites or "n" to exit.
3. If you do not had installed this software in your system before, you will get a prompt: "Please input the install path[/usr/local/Mobile_Partner]:". Then you can input install path(fullpath), or you may using the default path(/usr/local/Mobile_Partner) by press ENTER direct
4. Finish installing
--How to run--------------------------
* From shortcut in desktop
* Run MobilePartner in your install path
eg: # /<install path>/MobilePartner
* Plug in your device, it will run automatically(Not supported in Xandros)

EDIT: A quanto pare è già installata, almeno così dice il terminale.
Quando però clicco sull'icona non parte nulla. Ho provato a lanciare lo script shell dal terminale ma niente. Consigli?

Ciao,
(Huawei) Mobile Partner è solo un'applicazione che gestisce la connessione a Internet con la chiavetta, diciamo l'equivalente di Network Manager. Ma se la chiavetta non viene riconosciuta dal sistema tramite il suo driver, quell'applicazione diventa del tutto inutile (esattamente come su Windows).
Ubuntu dispone già di tutti gli strumenti necessari per gestire le chiavette Internet (usb_modeswitch ... che fa le veci del driver ... e Network Manager), strumenti che vengono installati di default in un'installazione base, e che quindi dovresti avere anche tu sul tuo PC. Puoi verificare questo dando questi comandi nel terminale

Ti ripeto: per quello che posso vedere io, a me sembra tutto a posto. Con le mie conoscenze in questo ambito non riesco a capire perchè le tue chiavette non vengano riconosciute. Oltretutto sono abbastanza "vecchiotte" e supportate
Ricordo che molti utenti hanno spesso risolto installando e utilizzando l'applicazione Sakis3G, ma non so darti ulteriori informazioni in merito. Prova a fare una ricerca

Grazie comunque per l'aiuto! Sarà un mio problema che essendo ignorante in materia ho sbagliato qualche procedimento. Ora mi rileggo il topic e provo a fare una ricerca su quel programma.
