[Risolto] connessione a hark disk usb con modem fastgate

Buongiorno a tutti,
premetto che sono completamente a digiuno di linux, probabilmente è per questo che non riesco a trovare le risposte alle mie domande

il mio problema è questo:
ho un hark disk formattato NTFS collegato al router fastgate di fastweb, con ip 192.168.1.254. da windows (non dopo pochi improperi) riesco ad accedervi senza problemi, sia in lettura che in scrittura

ho provato a collegarlo tramite dolphin utilizzando la funzione "aggiungi cartella di rete -> unità di rete microsoft windows"
ho impostato come nome "fastgate", come server l'indirizzo ip del router e come cartella ho fatto varie prove, ad esempio 192.168.1.254/EXTERNAL_USB; 192.168.1.254/sda1 (come vedo su windows)

in tutto questo, non riesco comunque a connettemi al server

ho googlato il problema, ma non sono riuscito a trovare nulla che mi fosse di aiuto.

giusto per verificare che non ci sia qualche problema di connessione, ma non credo, muoviamoci prima con il terminale poichè è più facile così rendersi conto di cosa funziona e cosa no.
Apri il terminale e dai il seguente comando per ottenere la lista degli share sul Fastgate

Se non ci sono problemi prova a connetterti allo share con questo comando

dove ho ipotizzato che il nome dello share ottenuto con il primo comando sia appunto EXTERNAL_USB
Se non ci sono problemi, visto che il terminale è bello ma un file manager grafico è più comodo, prova a connetterti con Dolphin usando la seguente URL

usa la combinazione di tasti [CTRL]+[l] per far apparire la barra degli indirizzi di Dolphin

Se i server DNS sono configurati correttamente puoi usare anche l'hostaname del Fastgate (FASTGATE) al posto del suo indirizzo IP (192.168.1.254)

Sotto ti ho messo uno screenshot per la funzione "Aggiungi cartella di rete" di Dolphin (io ho KDE in Inglese)

Fammi sapere, partendo dall'inizio e fermandoti subito se riscontri problemi, così nel caso aggiustiamo il tiro.

Con un editor di testi in modalità amministratore modifica il file /etc/samba/smb.conf aggiungendo nella sezione [global] la chiave
